12/17 Izod

Hi just got back from the Prince concert. Great show! Prince ROCKED it!

Ok he did a duet with some woman during HER set. It was "When were dancing close and slow"

Then Maceo came out to play. Prince came on and did guitar only(NOT the song).

Price show..it felt like it was 1984!

He opened with Lets go crazy.

He did 1999 Full version with him singing everything{the Lisa and Dez part as well}

Little Red Corvette Full vesion. Some guitar lics from the 12 inch. It was a bit slower and I didn't recogonize it till he started singing.

Controversy Full version

Ok from what I remember...NOT in Order

The beautiful ones Full version with a ballerina

The girls in the band did Love thy will be done full version

Take me with U full version

Sexy Dancer music only they were singing Le Freak over it. It works.

He played Guitar the song and I love U But I don't Trust U anymore with Maceo

Those were the only newer songs he did.

Purple Rain..and good nite.

Then he came back and did Kiss Full version..again Good Nite

Then Sheila E came out and did the Glamorous Life Full version

Prince came out and they did A Love Bizarre Full Version

Then The Bird and Jungle Love yes full version and good night

Then he came back for If I was your girlfriend, Insatiable, Scandelous and Adore all full versions and with the house lights on.

I keep saying Full versions cause this is the first concert of his that I went that had all full versions. I have been going to his concerts since 1988. It was nice to hear the whole song for a change.

He did take breaks inbetween songs. Something I am not used to him doing. It was a bit jarring but at 52 I guess U need a break.

A great show! Get there at the start time cause he does come out with other acts.

I know I am forgetting a few songs. Long night. Price still has it and ROCKS!

He did Delerious as well full version.

WEnt to see prince on 12/15 at IZOD. first night, after Esperanza Spalding and Layla Hathaway did their sets he started with the backgrnd girls and him doing something either from 20ten or it was so mashed up by the sound that i was unrecognizeable. In no particuliar order he declasred this an ol school affair: Let's work, controversey, Uptown(30 years old!!) and full versions!! Cream,Nothing compares to U with shelby J Rarity live in second act wasduets with Esperanza on If I was your girlfriens and with Ms Hathaway on Diamonds and pearls with prince alone on piano. So many songs- the get down suite- Insatiable, to Scandalous to Aore was like a love testimony. So many people were singing to their dates and or invisible lovers that night it was a scene!! then Shhhhhh!,so amnay songs I cant recall them all. Encore had Kiss with added 1`2" affects on it( canned synth horns, all the critics love u in NY , Purple rain . Then there was a rave up like Gett off organ grinder, call for dancers on stage and then went into all the critics love u in New york to end .

Had to go home that night to fly here to LA to see Stevie Wonder at the Nokia saturday. So much genius in one week i cant even think straight.I you haven't gone there may be some tix left for the added Garden show- go see him!! He's dancing more a getting down.

The band - dont know the new women, the strong white chick on bass nor the sister playing the keys ala Mr Hayes. John Blackwell back on drums-awesome and renato Neto on the other eys! No horns the furdst night, no Maceo etc.

these shows are more proof that prince reads the org. full versions with him singing and licks from the 12 inch .. sounds like he's taking requests just like when i asked for all day all nite and suddenly a whole show was dedicated to it .. this show sounds pretty great .. anytime he plays a love bizarre i am pretty happy .. i wonder if sheila can still handle kit duties for a whole show .. probably not but that would be ideal .. the drummer always makes the band imo and prince hasnt had a great drummer on the kit since it was sheila

so to test my theory .. i am officially requesting that prince do "here" .. its his most recent hands down classic and done as recorded, would slay any audience and likely get them interested in his newer material .. dance 4 me done well with the 'hallelujah's' and not just a lame half jam would also draw people in to his modern career .. but he has already done that song so i wanna hear "here" live

how about his aftershows be not jams but well constructed and famous outtakes or less famous b-sides

i've had a real itchin for "go" lately and wouldn't crystal ball be epic at an after show

if i love you tonite is pretty great too then kick into shockadelica

My first post on this site!! I' ve been a lurker for a 'lil while........

I went to the show at the Izod last night and had to comment! Prince was AWESOME!!!! I was with my sister, whose not a huge Prince fan like I am and she said she almost cried it was so awesome! She was yelling "this was the best show ever"......we've seen quite a few concerts so that's a lot coming from her!!

He did a great job.......he actually did ""Insatiable", "Scandolous", "and Adore" with the lights on! I was in HEAVEN. He looked sooooo sexy!

Sheila E and Maceo Parker were excellent also.

This was only my second time seeing Prince live. I'll see him again at MSG later this month.

I can not wait! biggrin

OMG. The IZOD show 12/17 was RED. HOT. It felt like 1984/1988 all over again. The man was totally ON. He was happy, smiling, DANCED his booty off... Sheila E was HOT. Leaving the house lights on for the last 4 songs seemed "dirty" but was really very cool. I don't know what he's got planned for the MSG shows, but DAMN! How he's gonna top this one?!

he will kill it at MSG like he always has, tonite will be my 76th Prince concert ( i can thank the musicology tour for that total getting that high) but this sounds like Musicology with a twist kind of tour, more artists tossed in but with a very similar frame of hits played with very little variance. But its a PRince show and despite set list issues you always get the best performance, but would kill to start hearing some of what he has been doing lately, wheres "Beginning Endlessly" that shit would blow the roof off, why record new music if you never play it?

Just an incredible show with a definite early-to-mid 80's vibe to it! My 10th show, and one of the most fun by far! Oh, and I <3 Sheila. I was blown away when I saw her appear!

Highlights: 1999 (still love to hear it - even past tense), The Beautiful Ones, Controversy, Purple Rain, Kiss, A Love Bizarre, Adore ... really, what wasn't a highlight? biggrin

First I would like to say thanks to everyone. This is my first post as well as 12/17 was my first time seeing Prince live. I fall in love with Prince from Purple Rain in the 80's I was glad he did the majority of the Album. I would have loved to hear him sing Dreamer. The guitar in the song is awesomeness! I thought I would never get the chance to see Prince live so I am so blessed to be able to. This website actually helped me prepare for my Prince experience. I took my mom with me and she was not as excited as I was but after the show she wanted to experience the rest of the tour. Unfortunately, I got to the Friday show late and was able to grab a tour book or poster which I would LOVE to have now! I ordered my shirt on Tticketmaster when I brought my tickets so I am still waiting on that. All in all a great experience and an excellent way to end my awesome year!

I took my son who turned 17 on Dec 16th, his words after the concert were "I'm a believer!" It was my 8th show and I can't wait to see him again.

I love it!

It's very cool that after all these years Prince puts on such

a show that gets reactions like this. I was 16 when I saw the

Lovesexy show and I'll tell you that it is something I will never forget!

The shows at Izod were spectacular!
