In theory it could be done. The 1st music spot is right around midnight. Even if Prince plays msg until 11:30.. out the door... with an escort he could be at NBC in about 10 or 15 minutes, easy.

You think Prince sets up his own equipment?

I think the rehearsal show for SNL is at 8 or 8:30pm. But to do the midnight time slot he'd have to just walk in, plug and play. It would be epic.. and he likes doing things like that (Minneapolis 7/7/07.. Macy's, Target Center, First Avenue all in one day).

How cool would it be though? The only thing that stinks is it means he'd likely for sure end the MSG show by 11pm to free up a little more time.

rehersal is if i rember 8pm to 930 pm.so he would have to miss them.you can always call nbc ask for snl they will tell u

That's what I would be afraid of, stopping MSG early (unless he starts a little earlier). I realize he doesn't set up his own equipment, but they have to take it down and transport it in time unless he has extras of everything, including the band's equipment or he is simply going to sing to recorded music like the American Idol thing he did a few years back or maybe play the piano and sing.

Still, they already have those great musicians scheduled tonight, maybe Lil Wayne is back in jail and they need a replacement.

Interesting. The show always has at least 2 slots for music. So the 2nd slot... ???? Could be. That would be wayyy cool. Then a 2am aftershow somewhere. One can Hope.

this would be very, very cool~ and would help me not feel so bad for staying home in NJ tonight instead of hunting down an aftershow.
