AIRPORT INFORMATION: (Note: LaGuardia (LGA) is closer to Manhattan than JFK airport. Both airports are located in Queens, NY, so you wil need transportation to take you into Manhattan (NYC) for the MSG shows. You can use the Shuttle bus service from both airports to get to your hotel in Manhattan. Super Shuttle and NY Airporrt Service Express Bus are two choices. See more info on this below. Link is provided http://www.jfkairportguid...ation.html NEW YORK - JFK/LGA/NEWARK AIRPORT EXPRESS SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE:

(See replies 52 and 53 for more info on schedule/fare/destination for this service (Note: Newark Liberty Airport offers inexpensive shuttle service as well. Scroll down thread for that info). New York Airport Service Express Bus: Available from 6:30 a.m. - 11:10 p.m., these shuttles leave every 15-30 minutes. Fare is $13 ($15 if you want to be dropped off at your midtown hotel), but you can save by buying roundtrip tickets online, as they are $22 (you can also buy discounted one way tickets online). One free child under $12 is included in the fare. You can choose to disembark at Grand Central, Port Authority or Penn Station, in addition to hotels between 31st Street and 60th Street. The ride takes about an hour. Return schedules and more information are available on their website. Super Shuttle: Available 24 hours a day, this shuttle provides door to door service for your party. Fares are $15 - $19, depending on destination. No reservations are required to get from the airport to your destination, but they are required for your return trip to the airport. Consult their website or call 1-800-258-3826 for more information. See advertisement for this service at bottom of thread. This service takes you to your hotel destination.
M60 bus from LaGuardia to Manhattan
TAXIS: There's also taxi service out front, at JFK/LGA airports, but expect to pay at least $30-$40.00 plus to get into Manhattan.
If you're going to the IZOD Center shows, it is cheaper, and makes more sense to fly into Newark Liberty Airport, for the New Jersey shows, than to fly into LaGuardia or JFK, because you will need transportation to get from JFK/LGA airports, which are both located in Queens, NY, in order to get to the state of New Jersey.
Newark Airport has an inexpensive shuttle service, which takes you to your hotel, and has pretty good rates. Check link here for that information:
http://www.stayinthemeado...de-ewr.php Meadowlands Airport Express ****At the airport, the shuttle operates from the bus lanes at the passenger pickup area.

No problem. I asked a mod if it could be a sticky, but apparently that did not happened. I figured people were going to be stressed enough trying to purchase tickets, so why not help out with hotel/transportation info. The good thing is, those going to see the Jersey shows on the 17th, can just take the 351 coach bus from Jersey, to the port authority, and jump on the "E", "A" or "C" trains to 34th Street Penn station or walk about 8 blocks to get MSG, from the Port Authority.

2elijah, that was very nice of you.
I live in NJ, so I'm good. I got the reserved parking for both NJ nights, tho.
I can't decide if I want to drive or take the train into the MSG show. I don't want to cut it close with NJ Transit. Plus, if there's an aftershow, I'll need my wheels. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Thanks are you going to the 12/18 show at MSG. If yes, then if you take NJ transit early it shouldn't be no problem, but then again, I agree you may need your car if there's an aftershow. I guess people are wondering if there is one, if he will do it at the Apollo. Kind of far from MSG though, so if he does I guess folks will be jumping in cabs to go up to 125th Street. I think if he decides to do one, it should be at a club closer to MSG, like BBKings. The Apollo is not that big with seating, so I could see people scrambling to get up there, but at least it has seats and would be a good place to party until dawn.

I go into the City quite a bit, and I like NJT. However, a couple of times, I almost missed the last train out because of the length of the show. During "Jam of the Year", I had to leave before the encore.
I'll probably drive, even though I'm leery of leaving my new car with garage attendants. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Thank you so much, 2elijah, for all the information and the time it took to compile it, and especially for the above transportation link about shuttle service to Meadowlands hotels. Because of this, I completely changed my airline and hotel reservations. I didn't realize how expensive it was traveling to and from the La Guardia airport to New Jersey! Supershuttle wants $100 per person per trip! And the cabs are not much better. The Newark airport shuttle is only $15 per person or $25 round trip--quite a bit of savings if you want to go to the Izod shows! Plane tickets to that airport were also cheaper, as well as the hotels. Plus, I can walk to the Izod and also a bus stop near the hotel that takes me into New York City so I can enjoy Times Square and the surrounding vicinity before seeing two Prince shows later at the Izod Center on the 14th and 15th. You have taken the stress out of this trip for me and my guest. Now, all I have to do is be there!

Thanks, no problem. People coming into NYC/NJ have to remember that if you fly into JFK/LGA, and booked your hotel in New Jersey, that it will cost you to drive or pay a shuttle service from both JFK/LGA airports to take you all the way to New Jersey. LGA/JFK airports are based in Qyeens, NY, not New Jersey.
It would make more sense that if you're travelling to the New Jersey shows first, to fly into Newark Liberty Airport., for the NJ IZOD Center shows, because you can take an inexpensive shuttle from that airport to your hotel or a taxi.
Same thing for those flying in for the MSG shows in NYC. It's best to either use LGA or JFK. The closest airport to Manhattan, is LGA (LaGuardia airport) though. JFK is about 25 - 35 minutes driving distance apart from LGA, but it is up to the individual as to which one they choose to take. The bus shuttle service to Manhattan will cost you at least a $5 or $7difference, if you take it from JFK airport, but either airport is fine, just a difference in distance.
Just to note, if you're driving, remember it will be holiday season around the time of these shows, so consider leaving early, to find parkingy, and avoid getting stuck in traffic with holiday shoppers and the rush hour (4pm-7pm), if you're coming in from NJ, to the MSG shows or going into New Jersey to the IZOD shows.
