I was on the phone today with a Ticketmaster rep about the upcoming January concert in MSG. I was trying to see about exchanging tickets for better seats. We went over different sections and their difference in pricing becasue the websites "seating chart" is rubbish when it comes to comparing prices. Anyhow, he was letting me know that the section I am in is not as bad as I thought because obviously, Prince is using the symbol stage and it's in the center of the floor. He also said the "back" of the stage is not nececarily the back because of the open stage. And I could have sworn he said something about it rotating. Is this true? Does a portion of his stage rotate? I tired to find pics and video of a concert when he's using this particular stage but didn't find any. Have any of you been to recent concerts where he used the stage? Does it make a difference if my section is in the corner and does the stage rotate? I'm just wondering because I'm trying to weigh all my options before I end up paying more for better seats.

Could be he redesigned the stage to rotate. I don't recall any the symbol stages in the past doing that. But you never know.

if it's anything like 21 nights london, i don't remember him venturing around the back end (!) maybe once as a token gesture

the photo shows the set up for those concerts & the stage is static, designed to have access all over but prince centred himself most of the time & would mainly use the space everywhere except the top of the symbol which i suppose is the area u are referring to? the band were there so it would involve walking around the back of the band

however you are at the corner, are you elevated/on a tier?

you might be ok with those tix, but if it's not much money in it go 4 better position..

have a look for video clips from 21 nights, might give you a better idea.. u will have a great time anyway.. best atmostphere ever!

The guy did say something rotates. But, maybe he was mistaken. However, this is a great pic and it lets me know I have nothing to worry about where I am at. This is pretty much a good pic that shows where I will be sitting except behind the circle (Diagonally accross.) So, maybe I'll just exchange for the same level but on this particular side. Thanks so much for the pic.

LOL! All I know is he said the words "circle" and "rotating" I thought he was talking about the portion where the band might be...I have no idea. I'm even more confused now than I was before. lol

On the 21 Nights he went around the back around 5 to 6 times a night , take a look at the DVD's .

He will at some point in the future have to go back to a more conventional stage set up.

Can you imagine him in his 70's trying to negotiate that symbol?

Bootlegs. There is a ton of them, from most points in his career.

I think the Symbol stage looks real cool but I am not a huge fan of the "in the round thing". I loved the idea when I watch the Lovesexy tour and thought it was cool but when I got my "front row tickets" for the Musicology tour and spent the night dodging around Renando all night I realized I probably like the end stage idea when I have access to premium seats. Curious to see what other thoughts are about the in the round shows, beyond the idea that the stage looks cool from an aerial view. Also, the stuff I have seen on You Tube from Europe with the end stage and the huge screen behind him looked like a great idea as you gets tons of close ups no matter where you are seated. Folks who attend the NYC shows, please share your thoughts about what you think are the best seats to have with this stage configuation. And also, what do you get with the premium seats on the floor with the tables? For all of you lucky enough to attend the upcoming shows on the East coast, have a great time for all of us!!

Well, I have banked all my efforts and money on being between the arrow and the flat side of the stage for three of the four shows I am attending (the fourth one so far I have seats high up, but right in the middle). Based on everything I have heard and seen, he favors that quadrant of the stage from the middle to the tip of the arrow and to the left if facing the arrow to the middle (see if you can figure what I just said out). We will see.

My best are tomorrow, section 11, row D in the middle of the row. Friday I have section 123, row 2 (which is arguably better, but a bit further back). Where are you? We have to say hello after all this posting!!!

let's trade cell #'s in a orgnote so we can text each other when we are in the area. definitely supposed to meet up with
