351 Meadowlands Coach Bus form Manhattan to Izod Did anyone use this service to attend the shows on the 14th or 15th? Anyone planning to use it on 12/17? If so, would you recommend it? I'm staying in Midtown and thinking fo using this if I decided to go to the Izod.
On the Izod Center site it states that this bus runs frequently between the Port Authority Terminal and the Izod Center. The cost is $5 each way and the ride is 20 minutes.

Hi Bella!
UPDATE: (Anyone else using the 351 Coach Bus to the IZOD Center, please read the directions on which windows/gate to go to once you arrive at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, (PABT) in reply #8 on this thread. Below, Orger "Xenophobia7" gives instructions on what to do once you arrive at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, and also where to board the Coach 351 bus on your return to fo NY (Manhattan-PABT) from the IZOD Center.
XEPNOBIA7 SAID:
Also, please make sure after the concert, on your return trip to the PABT, that it is a "Coach 351 Bus you are boarding, since there are other bus services that pull in and out of the IZOD Center. ) Also, this is holiday season, and be aware that there could be traffic delays due to the rush hour as well. Give yourself a considerable amount of time to leave, since many will be catching these buses to the IZOD Center shows as well.
Here's some FAQs with info on the coach 351 bus at Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan.

NYC's main transportation hubs:
Here are other train services that come into Penn Station/Grand Central Station terminals from outside NYC
Also, NYC's local train fare is $2.25 and you need a metrocard (see pic below) to board the local, subway trains.
The "A", "C" , "E" or "1", "2" or "3" trains all stop at 34th Street Penn Station (below MSG);once you come up the subway stairs, and on ground level, look for the outside exit or stairs/escalator, that will take you up on the street level where MSG is. You can't miss it.
Note: Penn Station is directly under Madison Square Gardens, so all you have to do is come up the stairs to go outside, to get into MSG above.
Madison Square Gardens (MSG) 4 Penn Plaza (7th Avenue, 32nd Street) New York, NY 10001 (Above Penn Station)

NYC is big, and if you don't know where you're going, you can get lost and sometimes attract or run into the wrong elements, so best to have some idea of where things are, when you come here. But once you're at Port Authority Bus Terminal, you should have no problem getting to the IZOD Center. Most locations in Midtown are easy to find. [Edited 12/16/10 23:17pm]

We are staying at the Doubletree near Madison Square Garden. Would it be better for us to take the 351 Bus to the Izod tonight or the New Jersey Transit Train from Penn Station to Secacus and then take the shutle to Izod?

I used in the past several time and I used it on Wednesday. It is very efficient and fast. Go to windows 10,11 and 12 at Port Authority, get your round trip and board the bus on 41st between 8th and 9th Ave(it is between the two main terminals. The way back was just as easy and you can pick it from Gate B Lot 27(don't get confused there other bus lines out there ,the one to NY departs from lot 27),you might have to wait like 5-10 minutes.
Enjoy the show | |

Banks, I set up travel info about this in this concert section since the announcement of the W2A tours. It seems the bus is easier since it only takes about 20 to 30 min to arrive at the IZOD Center, once you're at Port Authority. Why bother having to take a train halfway there, then get off and have to wait for a shuttle, when the 351 coach bus seems to be one shot and you're there. Also, make sure you find out after exiting the 351 bus, you ask the bus driver, exactly where to catch it to return to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. The 351 coach bus is $5.00 one way/$10.00 round trip.
Also, read reply #* from orger "Xenophobia7" who lets you know which windows to go, once you're at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. [Edited 12/17/10 7:06am]

Bella the info on their website is kind of confusing and misleading. I took the bus on Wednesday. It does not leave from gates 305 or 306. It leaves from 41st Street (b/t 8th & 9th Avenues). I was also incorrectly told by someone working at the Coach USA window that I could not pay on the bus, that I had to go to the main level and wait in line at window 11 to get a ticket. This was a lie. You can pay as you board the bus, as long as you have exact change.
My advice is to allow PLENTY of time to get there because it is rush hour and the Izod Center was sort of disorganized, imo. I got to the Port Authority around 6:20 (went straight from work) and probably took 15 minutes of running around due to misinformation before I was at 41st Street with a one way ticket (met my friend who drove at the concert and she gave me a ride home). We had to wait another 10 minutes at least for the bus to show up and the line was pretty long. It took another 10 minutes for everyone to board and there were some people who could not get on b/c the bus ran out of seats.
We got to the Izod Center parking lot around 7:15, the line to get into the Izod at the gate nearest the bus drop off was LONG and out the door, down the stairs. I think it was Gate A -- I walked to the right of the line and entered at Gate B, where there was no line. I got into the Izod center by 7:20/7:25pm. Luckily, Esperanza started a little late - around 7:40pm.
As I said, my friend drove me back to NYC after the concert so I can't comment on the return trip, but I saw the lines for that bus after the concert and they were really long. Although there were several buses waiting. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

I do not think you HAVE to buy a ticket in advance. I was told that, but when I boarded I asked the bus driver if one had to have a ticket and he said no. I saw he also had a lot of cash in his hand from people who paid as they boarded, as well as tickets. Note, I did not take the bus after the concert, so I had a one-way ticket only. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
