You wouldn't believe how excited I am about going. Out of the many years I've been a fan, this is my FIRST concert ever and sooo close to home. I didn't even know there were supposed to be concerts in NYC until it was too late. I was so heartbroken. Then yesterday, while at work, I heard on the radio these magic words "One more show added January 18. Tickets go on sale Friday @ 12pm" All I said was well, I can't get them 'cuz I'll be at work and it's probrably not gonna be at MSG. But, my oh, my! I had to stay home today because I'd injured myself yesterday and was able to buy tickets online! (I wonder how fast these sold out since I got mine at 12pm in less than five mins.) Well, anyhow. I wanted to know if anyone else was going to this particular show.

I noticed that you were going but I think I'll be right above you but high up. Over there in them 300's. lol 329 to be exact. Hey, I know that's not the BEST place to be but since the stage is his symbol "there wont be a bad seat in the house" That is unless you're sitting behind those speakers....

Eye will B there 2. VIP 3, Row/table 3 that night. U will be blown away if he really plays his heart out like he's known 2 do in the Garden. I am happy to have an opening act or as P says "Special Guest" which he will likely come out and join them on an instrument and backing vocals for a bit. That's cool like he did with Larry and Chaka back in MSG 2000 I beleive. Hopefully he opens with America and closes with Another Lonely Christmas.....with the closing line "U shoulda been there" LOL.

These shows will likely put me over 50x and for over 25 yrs they never get old....NEVER!!!!

This one will put me over the 30 mark. I will be there on the floor on the 18th, no VIP though, but close enough.

Wow You guys are serious about these concerts. I wish you were my friends and maybe you could have loaned me a little bread so my sis and I could atleast get in on the double digit seats. Man! If my sis had the money that day and I didn't have to loan her the money to pay for her ticket, I would have been able to pay for some seats that were uber close for the both of us. But, all is well. I'm good with my seats as I mentioned before. I've been to MSG for other events and seating in these particular sections isn't bad. And I'm so glad he's using a unique stage so I wont miss a thing. I also thought of sneaking into a seat of a person who didn't show up as usual, but then I thought, "who in the world wouldn't show up for this?" But hopefully there will be some way to sneak into past security. Let us pray.

Coming in from New Orleans. Don't know exactly what seats i Have yet. I won my tickets. But i hear theyre awesome seats. Staying at Embassy Suites NY, the one closest to the statue of liberty.

I'm staying home until it's time to leave. I live 20 mins away. I'll just hop on a bus a few hours ahead of time and just hang out for a while. Maybe go see Santa at Macys. lol

I just booked my flight/hotel package....we will be staying at the New Yorker. Do you know if this is a nice hotel? I booked it because of how close it is to MSG>

It's a dump, but very convenient. It has thousands of rooms.

So.....I managed to exchange my tickets for section 329 accross to 302. Only problem is they put me in row "J" but in the aisle. That's the last row within that section...sigh... I don't like the idea of sitting all the way in the back. It's not about not being able to see...just seems wieird sitting behind everyone. I gotta call Ticketmaster back and see if they've got seets in another row. Or maybe I'll just stay and hope there will be empty seats I can sneak to.

The New Yorker and the Pennsyvania are the two largest "tourist" (as opposed to mostly business people) hotels in NYC. They are fine. A zillion tourists stay there. However, hotel rooms in NYC are tiny and expensive. Be forewarned. I always tell everybody, don't think you are getting ripped off... just expect a tiny, non-exciting room for lots of money. That's what you'll get. You won't be in your room much anyway! And you can walk to MSG - bonus!

Anyone looking for hotels/hostels, etc., there's plenty on this thread with hotels close or not too far from MSG or IZOD Center. Also, budget hotels are listed as well.

I kinda expected small....just hope it's clean. No bedbugs!! LOL! And you are right, I don't plan on being in the room much at all!

If you want to go to a MSG show, keep checking online the day or two before. If you can't get a ticket then, go to MSG box office at like 4:00-5:00 on the day of the show and go to ticket window 19. I was told by an employee at MSG that he has never missed a show he wanted to go to, because ticket window 19 ALWAYS has tickets for sold-out shows. I would suggest you call the box office to confirm the time that the window opens.
