I'm very confused as to how people have been able to get pictures and video footage of Prince's recent shows in Europe because for the Madison Square Garden shows it has "No Cameras or Video Equipment allowed" in Bold letters on the ticket. The tickets also say that handbags will be checked before entering into the venue. Do people just sneak in cameras in there clothes or is this just a rule for the MSG shows? I want some pictures, dammit and will get sneaky if I have to. It's winter so I have big jackets. I hope they don't frisk me because I don't think it's that serious, but I could be wrong. Any ideas?

My camera phone doesn't allow for 10 minutes of videotaping so that's why I was confused because on the Prince forum there are videos that last 5 or more minutes. Those must be some amazing camera phones because I've never seen such crystal clear pictures from far away on even the new iPhones. It's all gravy though because I have a very small picture camera that takes videos too and boobs that can hid it quite nicely.

i've been to so many concerts and sometimes they pat u down,never touch u,open up your purse and look thru it not not even anything...still i never bring a camera cause most of the time i take a train to a concert and would have no car to bring it back to. i'll be damned their taking my camera

I went to a bunch of concerts this year, and took pix at all of them, except one, because I was in the front row. I could see flashes going off behind me, but I was too close.

Okay, I sneaked in a couple of quick blurry ones when she was taking a bow...

You can buy HD camcorders these days that are the size of a mobile phone. Quite easy to sneak in to a gig, and as mentioned before, most mobiles have decent enough cameras on them to take good pics and/or video.

I have attended over 150 concerts since 1987 and nearly every single one of those tickets had No Cameras, No Recording/Filming printed on them, and i took pictures at nearly every single one.

If you are taking a proper camera then that is the risk you take, so long as you do not wave it around like a lunatic, you can get away with it.

Most gigs do a quick search policy now, but it's not a hands against the wall pat down.

My girlfriend used to hide our camera in her trousers, because i was always the one most likely to be searched, worked every time. In fact, we took a quite large SLR camera to a handful of Prince shows in the past, and we both got searched. Just goes to show you.

Not all security people are there to give you a hard time.

not like your getting strip searched...hopefully someone will bring a camera to the meetups

When the rules were stricter, I'd buy a throwaway camera in case I was told I had to get rid of it. The pictures weren't that great, but it was better than getting a good camera taken away.

it's not the TSA. no body scans or intimate pat downs.

Yeah, that's another reason I want to bring a camera. I want pictures of the meet-up and will be taking the train also. I'll figure something out. Thanks for the advice everyone.

oh yeah now that i think of it i had a disposable camera i snuck in with like 5 pics left for the STONESOUR electric factory philly show. was suppossed to meet lizardman but he never came out. he was hosting the tour. anywho they filmed the video for MADE OF SCARS live there.

Hey, if somebody wants to miss the show because they are looking at their camera I don't mind looking at the pictures. Its just that I have been to well over 200 concerts by various artists and it can be disturbing sometimes.

I don't really get what the big deal is if other people want pix to remember an event by.

I'm more confused as to why people spend tons of money on beer, missing most of the show running back and forth to concessions or the bathroom.

I snap a few pics at gigs, but don't stand with my camera poised at all times.

I can never understand people who stand there drinking like their life depends on it, and then they spend most of the gig shouting at each other and/or going to the toilet.

Prince used to make people at Paisley shows put their phones and cameras back in their cars - which didn't really pose a security risk, as it's in the middle of nowhere and most shows were unannounced.

Last year his security just asked that we turn our phones off and not take any pictures.

99.99 percent of the people honored that and it was such a breath of fresh air to have a whole audience actually paying attention to the show and not texting and holding their phones up blocking others' views, or using flashes from 100 feet away.

All eyes were on Prince.

I am traveling 1300 miles to see Prince. You better believe that i will be taking a few photos of him & the band. I don't care if Prince or anyone else likes it or not.

at the recent holland gig he told people to put their phones up and the entire fucking place lit up like the sun with all the phones. there are too many people with cameras and phones for them to do anything about it. you might not get away with an SLR or a red digital camera, but you will with your flip or iphone
