Welcome To America

Well although it is always exciting when Prince decides to bless us with a live performance, I don't see this shaping up to be a tour of any sort. The pricey ticket packages are evidence of that. How many venues can he play where he can expect to sell out arenas where the floor tickets are $500-$750 each? I live in Albuquerque and was hoping to see our man in Denver or Phoenix but I don't see that happening.sad

$200 a ticket is still high for an arena show. There are only a few cities that he can sell out with these prices if they are gonna be an arena shows. NYC & LA for sure but not much else after that. Musicology was the highest grossing US tour in 2004 and the most expensive tickets were $125. I got to see 3 shows (Denver x 2 & Glendale, AZ) for the same price as it would cost for one of these shows and I had row 1 in AZ and row's 2 & 3 in Denver. Just sayin that the prices do not equate to a large tour which means I probably won't get to see it unless I drop a cool $1500 for 2 upper level tickets plus air & hotel for a 3 day Jersey vacation...ain't gonna happen.

$200 is kind of high considering I paid $17.50 for the Purple Rain tour and $22.50 for the Lovesexy tour. lol Lady Gaga tickets here were $175 and the last two times I saw Madonna in Chicago they were $350, so $200 isn't so bad considering today's going rate for big artists...wait a minute...that is a rip off! lol

Uh...how many years ago were the Purple Rain and Lovesexy concerts?! Decades ago! In this day and age, the NJ prices for Welcome 2 America aren't bad at all for a major performer. I got good seats for what I consider a pretty reasonable price. I turned down nosebleed seats in a huge arena for Paul McCartney which cost more than the $159.00 for good Prince seats. So, I don't think those prices are that outrageous by today's standards.

The cool thing is that the shows will be in the round so there is not really a bad seat in the house assuming there are Big screens.
