Show distractions? let's just party! Don't know if anyone else agrees on this, but having seen many Prince shows over the years (first in 1987) something kinda bothers me a bit on the nowadays shows; lots and lots of people just following the concert through their cell-phone/smart-phone...WHY o WHY? It's so distracting. Instead of clapping, cheering, dancing they are very occupied with their devices, they miss out on all the fun. It's like standing along with zombies. Sure it's fun to see some pictures or otherwise interesting material from the show afterwards, but that has always shown up...even back in the old days, the pre-cell phone-decade.
I would really like to make a plea to all of you out there going to upcoming shows to fully concentrate, celebrate and participate the entire show. It's will give such a better vibe to the scene. IMHO. Guaranteed you will get a far greater satisfaction of the show, as will I... [Edited 11/5/10 14:41pm]

I agree, and I guess that's exactly why Prince doesn't like photos and videos being made. He'd much rather have the people participating - it's easy to see with all the effort he puts into getting the crowd to clap their hands, sing and dance! And the result is a lot better, for him and the fans, when they go along with his request.
Having said that, I must admit that I love seeing videos and photos of the concerts ... who wouldn't?

It does provide funny scenes; those tiny-screen-peakers cheering or screaming (clapping is not an option) just a few seconds too late every time something happens on stage...like whoops oh yeah I'm here to and for a sec I allow myself to take a look at the real thing...not to long though.
