Prince Sells Out New York Shows In 30 Minutes
Pop superstar PRINCE has sold out his two upcoming Madison Square Garden shows in New York in just 30 minutes. Tickets for the Purple Rain hitmaker's Welcome 2 America Live shows went on sale on Monday (01Nov10) and the two concerts sold out almost immediately. Prince is also planning three December (10) concerts at the Izod Center in New Jersey. The shows will be his gigs on America's East Coast since 2004. Holding a press conference at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York last month (Oct10), Prince announced that performers including MACeo Parker, Janelle Monae, Mint Condition, Esperanza Spalding, Cassandra Wilson, Sinbad, Lalah Hathaway, Sheila E. and Graham Central Station will accompany him at different dates to help him play his hits.

They went on sale Sat Oct 30 and presale Fri Oct 29 and they didn't sell out in 30 mins. TRUE BLUE |

They have the wrong date of the sale to the general public in that article also. It was 10/30 not 11/01. Looks like the person who wrote the article didn't do much research. It seems they were also only referring to the date of sale to the general public, where they state the tix being sold out in 30 minutes.
