I hope Prince drastically changes his set list for his new US tour. He should lay off the classics & include some new tracks that no one has heard IMO. Also where the fuck is 20ten deluxe??

Prince gave a party atmosphere and technically convincing appearance in Copenhagen's Forum, where a devoted audience took the trip back to the funky '80s.
- We are real musicians. There will be no pre-recorded music at this concert! Much can be the image of 52-year-old Prince Rogers Nelson, but the statement sounded credible when he came with it from the edge of the stage in the Forum. Unlike most of the times pop stars, so he writes his own songs and even performing every instrument on his records. His greatest moments may be long gone - he has had a very volatile career since the happy '80s. But as the headliner at this summer's Roskilde Festival, he proved that there is still good reason to take him seriously in as a live performer and as a preacher for his sensual pop. And Wednesday evening was followed up on the festival atmosphere as the tiny gentleman took a long sold-out Forum on his feet - he was simply switched on throughout the two hour concert, beginning with 'Future Soul Song "and to end in the form of' The Glamorous Life '. The Pop prince let his libido-driven music speak for itself, and delivered it into coherent medley without breaks between songs, which seemed a bit tiring in the first half hour, since only 'Raspberry Beret' really got the audience's arms in the air. The whole thing was, however, delivered brilliantly by the musical master himself and his powerful band that currently includes the Danish bassist Ida Kirstine Nielsen, who made a distinguished figure and challenged protagonist to 'bass battle' in 'A Love Bizarre'. 'Purple Rain' was, as always, magnificent, and the musical equilibrism reached new heights when Prince gave specimens of his skill udi drumming and guitar solos, especially in the bluesey ballad 'Shhh'. Unfortunately, the musical also happened to be tonight's grievance. There was hardly an instrument that did not get a handful minute solo spot on the way, and it was often difficult to discern the soul behind all the gloss. But you surrendered, defenseless for the professional prince when he closed with 'Some Times It Snow in April' and 'The Glamorous Life'. Here, everything went just into a sexual musical unit for awhile. 4 out of 6 stars Danish BT newspaper

Loving these setlists!
If I Was Your Girlfriend, Future Soul Song... And everything was altogether morphed around from the Bergen gig. C.O.O.L. ("Funky Sesame Street"). No Jungle Love or The Bird for you guys, though.
Totally dug the duelling banjos-thing with Ida in http://www.youtube.com/wa...aooI5VcR_g, is that from Sexy Dancer?
Also A Love Bizarre must have been a treat! Not seen or heard since 1988?

Yeah. It was a good concert. A lot of classics, but he delivered.
The sound was little on the muffled side. Hope the sound engineer gets it right tomorrow.
I stilll don´t get the Shelby J and Co. intermezzo though. All respect, but they kind of messed up the funky vibe (Just like Roskilde)
To bad I missed the last encore. A bit sneaky Princey.

i like the last clip of the bass jam but gets ruined by purple i have played this song 2 damn many times already rain man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

It was about 10-15 minutes afterwards. He came back on stage, when the light was on and the crew had been busy for a while packing the instruments and cleaning up.
Prince was so sweet and kinda natural during this concert and he really seemed to enjoy himself. It was just amazing to see him dance around again. I love the way he moves, and I dont think I have seen him dance this much in a concert for a long while.
He and Sheila E were so great on stage together - playing up to each other and dancing around. It was wonderful to see. Also nice that she had a more central role in this concert and played some solos etc. TOOOOO FUNKY!
Ida did a really good job, played super funky bass - I only wish she would relax a bit more and smile and dance while playing, cause then she will be just perfect. But hey, I cant blame her, for could I relax playing on stage with Prince - naaaaa! Not so much. I really looking forward to seeing her in Herning too! She is super cool!
Everybody, it was a ultra funky show in Forum Copenhagen, and if you haven´t got ticx for Herning yet, I would go at get them!!!!
Loooking so much forward to seeing Prince and the band again tomorrow!

On the one hand, i agree with what you say about Purple Rain, it will more than likely be a song that Prince playes live for the rest of his life. On the other hand, live versions of the song can be fantastic. His guitar solos are usually brilliant in the song, and differ quite a lot from gig to gig. I don't think i have heard any two versions of the song that have sounded indetical. Solo wise.

I agree, the version on the Lovesexy video still gives me goosebumps. Syracuse is a crazy version too. I also have many awesome versions of PR on some of the boots i have, it seems to be a song that he has played consistently well on almost every tour of his career so far. Still, would be nice to have a tour or two where he did'nt play it.
