Prince to headline Formula 1 Abu Dhabi nov 14th

http://www.timeoutabudhab...10-line-up

The headliners at this year’s Yasalam event, which leads up to and runs alongside the F1 weekend in Abu Dhabi, were announced by local promoters Flash this morning. While Linkin Park had already been revealed several weeks ago, Kanye West and – more surprisingly – Prince were both new revelations.

The prospect of seeing Prince, ‘the Purple One’, here in the UAE already has Time Out salivating, and we hope he won’t be required to tone down his notorious stage show. That said, the legendary funkster is now in his early fifties (52, to be precise), so the risk of him popping a hip may be more on the minds of his bookers than the risk of him wilfully staging a wardrobe malfunction. Age aside, the prospect of hearing him hammer out ‘When Doves Cry’, ‘Sexy MF’, ‘Raspberry Beret’ and ‘Kiss’ is surely worth any potential controversy he may or may not be able to think up.

"Prince will perform exclusively for race day ticket holders at the Yasalam After-Race Concerts, at Yas Arena, Yas Island Abu Dhabi on Sunday 14th November"

So its a private performance of sorts you have to be going to see the race to see him.

Wonder how the Arab World will recieve him eek

News doesn't travel very fast if they're still worried he'll have to "tone down his notorious stage show."

So would you say that about the other artists that's going to be at these shows? They all deserve to get paid.

I was thinking much the same. It's amazing how many on here think Prince (and others) should do things for free. Maybe they should give up their wages for their work....

We ain't from Hollywood, so you know it's all good

Formula 1 and Prince in the same location, dreams really do come true! Now all I have to do is get well enough to be there and afford the tickets!

I'm looking out for a purple dolphin.
