EMPTY ROOM AT HERNING GIG...

Dear fellow org'ers,

I attended the Herning gig yesterday and I was completely blown away by the first two songs on the setlist. Empty room at the beginning - do you think he was referring to the not sold out arena?

He seemed so "angry" in the beginning - no smiling at all... it was very intense.

and then Stratus - my god that was a heavy-rockin' song.

Do you know where these songs come from - which albums?

"Empty room" was officially released as a live version on C-Note. Studio versions are in existence. You can find them on various bootlegs.

"Stratus" is a very well-known track played live at several aftershows. A studio version isn't circulating as far as I know.

Stratus is by Billy Cobham, but most people know it from Massive Attack's Safe from Harm.

I first heard Prince play it at an Indigo aftershow - pretty damn awesome! He just got right into it, and didn't really pay much attention to the audience, which was fine by me. It's a rare treat to see him as a musician totally at one with the music, instead of being the showman at the same time.

Dude

Empty Room was fantastic!! So was Stratus.

It was nice to see Prince so intense as he was in the first songs. Also his guitar was out of tune and he struggled with it, it was like seeing a little glimps of the old Prince also with the shirt-thing wink

His guitar was out of tune? - Maybe that's an explanation for him looking a bit angry during "Empty Room", as seen in a video that is now sadly gone already.

Dude

Yes, during the first 3 or 4 songs he often tuned his guitar during the songs, he even threw it across the stage and tossed a guitartripod high up in the air eek
