Renato was there the whole time, laughing and having a good time and enjoying Princes dance moves.

Early in the concert Prince were lying on the back on Renatos Piano, looking at renato upside down, like a woman trying so seduce him.. There were so many cool moments during the show!

Someone usually come and picks up the guitar and brings it back to the stage when he hands it to the audience... I did not see if that was the case yesterday, but I'm surprised if it wasn't...

I think thats the case in Bergen aswell. I read someone was seen picking up the guitars later... )

I can relate to that because I was just as surprised about it when I saw Prince in Vienna in July, for the first time after 17 years!! He was not like that back in the late 80s and early 90s. It was a very nice surprise to see him so relaxed and full of humor. I did not remember seeing him like this before.

A lot of the people in the audience obviously hadn’t seen Prince since the Lovesexy tour, or the Oslo concert in 1992, or ever before, and had no idea of how good he actually is today. Or the quality of the band he travels with.

The whole evening was just packed with “Wow” moments. Another was his Detroit style dance moves throughout – the dude was just on fire – I don’t know what people thought they expected, some washed up Tina Turner retro routine, maybe. People need to learn that when you go to a Prince concert, he rarely lets you off the hook. I overheard some dude on the way out wondering who was handling the guitar when Prince wasn’t soloing.

All the while 9000 people are queing up in Oslo to see Lady Gaga. Nice planet.

But the mere quality of the song, and the power of the deliverance, truly won us over. God, how I love the fact that he opened with this one, instead of LGC or 1999 or any of the others.

We paid to see you, Prince. Do what you wanna.

And when he came back at the end, after a zillion “encores”, and did Sometimes It Snows In April just for me, I nearly lost it. That was a truly perfect ending. Neto was visibly moved when he did his little solo. My own eyes was all glassy and hurting like hell from all the emotion. Prince himself was all coolness, as usual. Just presenting his beautiful music with his slightly over-sized guitar hanging round his pretty little hips.

BOTW was a flawless rendition of the Aretha Franklin version, complete with the "Still water I need"-part (or whatever the hell it is that the choir's singing) at the beginning - only they put it near the end. Before Pearls B4 The Swine. Which was beautiful too. Very good song for a "gospel" style version.
