PRINCE 4 GLASTONBURY 2011

Michael Eavis, landowner and the guy who gets bands booked 4 Glastonbury says:

"There's an American artist that I've been wanting to have for years and yonks and yonks and yonks. So it's confirmed."

Eavis added: "I can't tell you who it is. I really cannot tell you who it is. I can't tell you a thing about it," although he did admit he was "thrilled" about the booking.

Well i thought i would get in first with this as others r gonna cream themselves, getting their underwear all damp assuming Eavis is talking about Prince. Of course it could be any US artist. Maybe Van Halen? Who knows smile

like I said in the other thread, confirming this early would be very organised for someone like Prince.

unless the price was right....

I don't think Glastonbury pay the big bucks, allot of the prestige is about playing Glastonbury, so I doubt he'd play, I hope he does, but I doubt it, he would go down a storm there and it would really raise his profile with a group of music fans who maybe are not fully aware of his material.

From reading many Micheal Eavis interviews over the years, I can't imagine this could be anybody BUT Prince! And IF he's finally playing Glastonbury, expect him to play similar shows to Stevie Wonder's June 2010 UK shows: London's Hard Rock Calling & Manchester's MEN Arena.....wink

Does earning a quick buck count?

He moved over 2 million copies I read... (in one day!)

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Eavis has previously also said he's asked U2 to play the event after they were forced to pull out this year, but the Irish band are yet to give him a definite answer.

Prince? Booking a concert a year in advance? falloff

Reminds me of Elbert Hubbard, "That one is born every minute is a conservative estimate."

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I saw and recorded Stevie's set on TV from the comfort of my couch. I'll do the same if Prince shows up next year.
