If one Promoter (out of eight, or however many concerts there are) doesn't pay the rent for the stadium, then it's not Prince's fault... and he can communicate about that until he turns blue in the face!

It wasn't like Prince decided not to play in Geneve (like he did in Dublin)... according to Shelby, they were ready and scheduled to go on in Geneve... of course they can't if the concert venue is not paid and no stage is errected!

If a promoter tells Prince's crew "Hey, we haven't sold enough tickets and monday is a bad day for concerts anyway, could we postpone the show to a weekend 1 and a half week later", what are his people supposed to do, to pay closer attention... should they assume that the promoter will not pay the stadium and ask stadium officials if he did??

And why should a crooky promoter in Geneve affect the show in Nice?? Of course, it would be good for the fans, if they would get an assurance from the horses mouth that there will be a show in Nice, but it's not really necessary, since there is not really a connection between these two shows! And the average people attending the show in Nice probably do not even know about the fuck up in Geneve!

You're right though... at the end of the day people will be mad at Prince!

Your undying adulation of Prince is impressive, if somewhat naive. I do not see the CEO of BP hiding behind a sub-contractor to take the blame for a screw-up so why should Prince. Poor communication has been his history. Is it unexpected for anyone close to him to keep close to fan sites (even if just to get them taken off-line) and highlight that there is an issue here. Yet again Prince fans are out of pocket and left disappointed. Geneva would have been my 40th show, 41st if Dublin had taken place, 42nd if Blenheim Palace. All shows cancelled for no good reason.

We see Pink play in Prague on Tuesday night after being taken to hospital from the Nurnburg show a few nights before - and she still managed to Twitter an apology to the German fans from the hospital. If the Internet is dead, then why are we all using this forum so widely to inform each other, find out about aftershows, etc.

I can accept all this "will he, won't he", "where and when" speculation for aftershows as these lack certainty and this is a price that we are prepared to pay to have the privilige of attending one of these special events. However, by extending this uncertainty to main events, Prince is in danger of becoming the funky Axl Rose - who has zero respect for his fans.

So Prince, come on now. Disband that waste of time LotusFlo3er, get the npgmusicclub back on line and start communicating with the people have put you where you are. If you need some inspiration, go to U2.com and so how an artist should communicate with their fans.

And before all you blinded people start questioning my credentials as a real Prince fan, 39 gigs in 5 countries, 500+ CDs and almost 30 years of listening to his awesome music.

I totally agree with u.....Prince is partying in Paris....and I am stuck in boring Geneva.....I feel like such a sucker!!!!!Thanks Prince....

Its not fare that he did a surprise jam in a club in Paris.....why not have done it here to make up for the fans.....The people in Paris got to see him and they didn't have to take time out from their jobs, lose money, shlepp to a city that otherwise they wouldn't have gone too....I'm sorry but its ridiculous...... sad

I'm still in Geneva and should get back to Nice tomorrow afternoon just in time to queue up at Nikaia. I read Prince arrived this afternoon (Saturday) and is staying at the Negresco hotel on the Promenade des Anglais...
