Parking in/near Werchter

Hi All,

We're coming in quite late on Saturday - could any one of you please provide me with some parking lot info? Where do we best drive and park the car?

Thanks for your help - much appreciated!

I love Prince and chocolate - in that order

Getting to (and from) Werchter can be quite a nightmare as there are only limited roads going there and they're all local roads. Also parking near the site is limited.

For official info you can visit the Rock Werchter site (www.rockwerchter.be) for more info.

You could consider parking in/near Leuven and take the bus from there.

Hm - look at it - might be a nightmare. But then, in the end - Prince is worth the effort biggrin

i've been to werchter before and getting there is a bit of a nightmare, indeed.

but with gps it shouldn't be a problem. also, with all those people coming for

the prince gig, you can just follow the trail of cars.

parking near the werchter grounds is fairly easy irrc. they just open up some

fields near the grounds where everyone puts their cars. i just drove up there

every day and had no problem parking (went back to leuven at night to sleep

in a hotel).

personally, i'd rather drive as close as possible to the grounds and park my

car over there, then walk for 15 to 25 minutes (which is not punishment at

all since everyone is walking to the gig from the communal parking lots and

everyone is in a good mood usually) than park in leuven city and have to be

on a bus for 45 minutes and try to get back on a bus after the show.

just check out the werchter official site and see if they offer direction or some

info to put into your gps. or just look at google earth to see how to get closest

to the grounds.

again, it's probably fairly easy since there are so many people going there and

the majority are gonna go there by car anyway. the last 20 minutes leading to

the grounds are very small roads through villages and rural areas so the trail

of cars is a dead give away that you're heading in the right direction.

and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Thanks a lot - I think we'll get there smile
