Geneva is changed...

http://www.20min.ch/ro/news/geneve/story/19567703

What a loser he is!

He plans too large venues.

Then the prices go down or stuff gets changed location or dates etc.

And we suffer the consequences.

He sucks.

I still love him - as long as he doesn't cancel Werchter!

I love Prince and chocolate - in that order

After seeing Roskilde and Berlin he has at least shitty ass promotors that overestimate the selling power of mr P and/or buying abilities of european fans in the financial cri$i$.

(Did you see the price differences? 155 euro for Innenraum in Berlin.

40 euros for a festival day (multiple bands) in Portugal.)

OTOH P has contracts with the promotors that allow such changes in price/date/venue (yes, we have seen them all on this very small tour) while he still gets his millions.

Tickets got cheaper in Arras and Berlin.

Linz was changed to Vienna.

Geneva changes from july 13 to 23rd.

Etc.

It looks like very poor planning, very poor management and at least qualitatively very disappointing (K.U.T. in Dutch).

Don't know whom to blame for the change - for me it's more the promoters fault - they pay him millons and don't get the money back by ticket sales with much too high prices - so they try everything to make more money - for sure this is the wrong way!!

In this special case, the goolge translation says something like: the promoter is schocked about the imcompetence of the local organizer - it seems that ther hasn't been a good planing for the concert , something about a forgotten rent and so on ... so maybe here the local organizer is the fault.

but one thing for sure is correct - it's always about our man! announcing a few concerts in short time in much too big venues, making absolutly no promotion and then postponings and relocations.

holding finger crossed that arras and vienna will take place on planned dates - have my flight tickets and hotels booked.

greets from austria

walter

We will be in Geneva nevertheless on the 13th.

Where can we hang out and have a good time?

The day after we will go to Vienna as planned.

Yes, of course. Typo, blabla. smile

Thanks. Now looking for an affordable hotel in Geneva on the new date and the few days inbetween.

Any tips for a Geneva cheap hotel?

Well... it could be worse! He could die! But yeah... sucks for people, who booked flights and hotels... thank god I will go by car! Good thing though, with him not having a show the next day, the possibility of a aftershow increases!

If you want a cheap place to stay, go to Annemasse... just across the border...it's a boring town, but there are plenty of cheap places to stay.. been there quite a couple of times...

And if you got a little more time on your hands, go to Lausanne... much much nicer place to stay! And only a 45 minute drive from Geneva...

I cant beleive I fall for that guy time after time. That is the last.

Knowing his record, His wacky personality and endless greed for money I keep folowing him around.

Yet again I booked a 600$ flight. Yet again I pay the hotel. And yet again he cancels... How stupid of me.

Promoters or no promoters there is an artist behind this concert.I have been in the music business for years. The artist himsalef has the last say. Always. This specific artist don't give a fuck about his fans and music lovers. Calling himself christian and preaching people from the stage stuff that he know nothing of.

But the way karma goes he eats his own fruits. Look how dull this fan site has become. Look at his ticket sales. He is loosing the lat of his fans.

Shame. Thats all.

I will keep listening to his music. He is an amazing musician.

But he will not see a buck from me no more.

If I cant see his concert I will download bootlegs and recordings like there is no tomorrow and with clear conscience

The bastard

wish a sane person could have entered his crazy world and gave him some sence ....

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

I can give you a hundred examples of mishaps that happens in organizing concerts where the artist had the last say and decided to act for his fans.

The concert sold bad. "only" 10k bought tickets. He can always move to a smaller venue same date.

When I was a kid the waterboys came to my towns and only 50 people bought tickets. They didnt open the 2k venue but the guys sat in the hall and gave the the 30 people the most memorable acoustic concert of their lives. sweet guys. they where quit big back than. This is just an extreme case. Prince could do a hundred differnt things if he gave a shit about people that pay him money and not only about their money.

That type of thinking would require the use of common sense. I just posted an article about loads of artist canceling shows this summer at least the concert is going to happen.

In Geneva public transport is perfect, as it is between Lausanne and Geneva. Not sure about public transport across the border, never used it... always went by car!

You are lowering your standards because of changes in the way stuff is organised?

They have a problem and you adjust way too much.

I suggest everyone that bought tickets to the cancelled show should bring a class action against the promoter.

They'll end up bankrupt.

A lawyer will love this. The promoter will try to hide behind terms and conditions and will know that to defend in court will be so costly that they will settle.

The lawyer will be able to charge the promoter a great deal for their time everyone will be compensated.

This case seems to be entirely different to the Irish fiasco. There the promoter sued Prince and we all know the outcome.

Revert to law. Don't get mad, get even.

Prince has not cancelled as the show is rescheduled so it seems obvious where the blame lies.

In English it is specifically Tort law that applies. Now here French law would apply. I would suggest laws regarding consumer protection would be the first course of action.

Nevertheless the point of a class action is not to actually end up in court, rather that the lawyer for the class would obtain "legal victory" through the pressure caused should an action end up in court.

The promoter would be hard pressed to go to court and would most likely do a deal to close the action.

Possibility of bankruptcy is too high a risk not to settle, that is why class action is so powerful.

American orgers will be able to cite many many examples of this.

It is most disgusting though. I was going to be attending this show. I would've been overspending and decided against.

I think I would have been looking at 2-300 euros to make this show and I'm one of those people who doesn't have such a large amount to just burn.

Hold the promoters to account, people. I know I would've.
