Werchter: what time will it start and finish?

On several websites I see different times: 13.00, 16.00.

Is there any information about the actual start of the concert?

It will start when it does, and finish when it's over.

16:00 is the time that's mentioned on the official ticketsite.

So that's probably when doors will open.

I don't expect Prince to start before 21:00, probably later.

I just need for Prince to get off that stage by 1am to make the last train back to Brussels or we will be taxi-ing it...unless it's safe to hitch hike in Belgium. I, along with my crew are on a 10:55am plane back to Chicago on July 11.

God!!!! The things I sacrifice for Prince. If this man only knew.

He will perform when it's getting dark.

Why do so many people ask the obvious?

Will they only enter the site when the support acts are done?

Well, I would... I couldn't care much for the support or opening acts. Maybe they are a nice waste of time, but I'm there to see Prince. And since I'm not interested in a place right in front of the stage either... a little timetable for the day would be much appreciated!

He even didn't give a timetable for the tour. He just planned dates here and there. And moved one location already. So just get there or be square.

Why go back?

July 12th will have a show in Geneve (nearby when you are from Chi-town and came to Belgium, same for july 13th at Vienna).

Do you want to suffer in the heat?

Do you want to be in the real real front?

Or do you want to avoid a sore neck and still have a great view, good sound and a lot of fun?

Did you ask yourself questions like that?

(yes, assuming the weather will stay like it is now)

How big was that gold circle anyway?

20.000?

Uhm well I don't neceserally need to be in the very very front but would like to be somewhere in the first 20 rows or so, but my cousin is saying "you will have to leave at 6:00in the morning , and definitally be in line by 9:00 if you want to be anywhere near the front" eek

I have never been to a big gig so i wonder will it really be THAT crazy, if the shows starts at let's sat 19:00 that's 10 hours of standing in line and waiting confused

Well, it used to be like that.

And of course people are still crazy like that.

But we get older...

Also weather might keep people a bit more quiet.

You don't have to stand, sit down if you like.

Maybe bring a foldup chair?

Sunscreen? Drinks, loads of drinks, a ticket...

I cannot imagine it' necessary to be there that early. Especially not if you are satisfied with being in the first 20 rows.

With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

You'll have a great view of the on-stage action anywhere within the Golden Circle. The area is divided in four sections all of which are between the stage and the Front of House tower. So if you don't like all the pushing and shoving leaning back against the barriers at the end of the section you're in will be much more relaxing and still gives you a great view.

Hi guys,

previous year, i've been to Madonna in Werchter also, i had also Golden Circle back then, and now i have again. I was there on 13.00 and i was in the first 3 rows, so i don't think you have to be that early, i guess.

I don't know how fanatical Prince fans are in that option. wink

Well i think i'll be there 13.00 again, i can't come earlier, but i really want to get in the front of the stage, is there a catwalk also??

But Madonna back then the doors open at 17.30/18.00 so i really don't know if that time is good really..

I have to come from the Netherlands, so i have to drive 2,5 hours to get there too.

We'll be leaving from Zwolle, The Netherlands, at 3pm. Cousin can't make it sooner as she can't get anyone to babysit earlier. I hope we'll be there on time lol

I love Prince and chocolate - in that order

the website states the following planning now:

DOORS: 16u00

JAMIE LIDELL: 18:00 - 19:00
MINT CONDITION: 20:15 - 21:15
LARRY GRAHAM (GCS): 21:15 - 22:15
PRINCE: 22:15 - 23:45

I guess he'll play more then 1.5 hours but that's probably his minimum performance time contractually speaking...

www.werchterboutique.be (The official site for the event)

But apparently only the dutch link has the line-up section (and more info through a dropdown menu)

Isn't the point of paying a premium for GC that you then don't have to waste your day queueing (or for the yankees lining up) ???????????

It's nonesensical to me that anyone is considering spending any amount of time over and above an hour prior to doors opening.

Let the sheep line up all day, they turn into cattle once the doors open. They all cram to be as close as possible to the front, why oh why, is beyond me.

Enjoy the day - Lille's only a short distance away and gogle earth shows there's some places near the monument (in Arras) to get food/drinks

Preserve your energy and you'll enjoy the show.

Let the cattle do their thing and stand back behind them, you'll still have a great view if not better view and you won't feel crushed, that's my advice and this will be my 20th year of seeing Prince live.

It's like the indigo gigs. People would leave the o2 early to get in line. Then they'd wait for a couple/few hours to get inside. Then they'd rush the front n stand there for maybe another hour or two. Pointless. Especially as there was no gaurantee of a performance every night.

Me and my mate watched the main show, strolled out a little later, not missing his encores after the place had emptied. Then we went to this burger bar and had tea/coffee/burger/hotdog etc. Within a week or so the staff were giving us everything for nothing! We bought them a tin of chocolates to say thanks.

Then eventually once the doors had opened we found ourselves a nice seat upstairs and had a great view, easy access to the bar and a nice relaxing time before we enjoyed the main event.

Apparently the time's for the show are:

Start: 7.45 (make sure you're all in line to meet the teacher). Finish: 3.19.

NO not really but well done if you get the references, especially the first one, though I have kindof given away where it comes from.

First to tell me the reference gets a beer off me before the show, unless of course you are a sheep.
