Prince versus Muse Went to see Muse on Friday in Paris.
Let's be clear, I'm a bigger Prince fan but for 50€ standing ( no hasty discounts needed here) I got a great, honest outdoor show with interesting support acts ( The Editors! Fab!!) and a group who were glad to see us there.
Will look forward to reports of concerts from our little P!!

i only got into muse by hearing black holes, which was a fucking great album, and they played in my town in support of that album, playing the same venue that radiohead played 2 days earlier (with beck as support, who was fucking brilliant as usual, i would have paid to see either radiohead or beck on their own, i've seen both a few times), i hadn't seen muse live before and i just had a brief listen to some of the back catalogue, so i didn't know half the songs they played, bar the new album, and they were fucking brilliant. and there were only about 3 or 4 of them onstage, but a massive sound. they sounded like radiohead should have. radiohead were good, but muse were better, and that's coming from a radiohead fan
btw matt bellamy is dating kate hudson from almost famous!

I'm totally with you. Muse have grown, in a good way. Radiohead, who I like just continue to "experiment".
I saw Muse in 1999 in a small club in Cambridge and I was hooked from their. But to date, I've never seen them live since the first album. I generally always avoid stadium stuff, so thats ruled the last few years out.
However, I will get to see them at Glastonbury this year., and I can't wait. .

they had the sound to fill a stadium and lights etc, a bit pink floydy, they were aware they were playing a stadium so had a show to match. the last few times i saw radiohead i was usually at the front of an outside/tent show. even at the front it's shit as you are usually so far back from the stage. i was front row at the radiohead club tour but they just played mostly weird new shit, and i think it was before the album was out. i saw them a few times like that, the album had leaked but you still weren't as familiar with the songs and the audience is cold during new songs they haven't heard before. they played 2 nites in a row in the tent tour, the first nite the new songs were mostly at the start and filled most of the set, the second nite the ok/bends stuff was more prominent and it was a much better show. it was like seeing two bands, yet just one night after the other
