Questions on travel to Werchter

I need help about the best way to get to werchter from Brussels south airport. The werchter boutique website says that you can buy a b-excursion tix included with the festival tix for free train travel in belgium to the festival. But you can only get this at the train station. I was wondering what my options are, can you get the train bit elsewhere, online?. I am also not sure where to get a hotel, Leuven or another bigger city near werchter itself?

Anyone have any ideas, or what are other people coming from the UK doing>?

Cheers,

The B-day trip ticket was only sold as a train/concert (NOT golden circle) ticket combination. So if you have a concert ticket already this is what you should do: From the airport you need to take a bus to the trainstation (Charleroi South). At the airport you can buy a combo bus/trainticket. Then you take the train to Brussels-North. Change there to Leuven (or Louvain in French). In Leuven you can get on the free shuttle bus to Werchter. It should take about 2 hrs from the airport to Leuven and another 15 mins or so to Werchter and then another 15 mins walk! Leuven is also the best option to get a hotel (Novotel Leuven for instance).

Hiya - I'm staying in Brussels on Friday and Saturday night. How will be the best way to get to Werchter and back to Brussels after the concert on Saturday? Will trains run during the night and should I buy in advance or can I buy tickets during the day?

Take the train from Brussels North, Central or South (Midi) train station to Leuven, it will only take you 20 to 30 minutes. On Saturday night there should be trains back from Leuven to Brussels until midnight or maybe until close to 1 AM. Best check on the day itself. You don't need to buy your train tickets in advance. You can buy them at the station, if you haven't bought a two way ticket you can still buy it on the train back when ticket sales have closed down at Leuven station.

Just checked it on the NMBS site: last trains on Saturday night from Leuven to Brussels North are at 23:09 and 0:04 AM.

No french speaking fans in Belgium? All trains go to Flanders.

thank you. any ideas of train tix prices?

In the UK it's cheaper to fly than use a train?
