Arras, just another Croke Park? The supposed support acts are billed for gigs elsewhere, no Prince artwork is even printed on the tickets(like Croke Park), nothing at all from Prince's camp not one drop of evidence that hes going to be playing (he did for Montreux and Paris).
Something isn't right. I think people should hold back from rushing to book trains planes and automobiles just for now. I hope to god I'm wrong! but things don't add up. FUNKNROLL! "February 2014, wow". 'dre.

I think thats sound advice.
The tickets can be refunded, but I for one will not be spending any money on any non refundable hotel / ferry / train tickets until I see something more solid. I've been bitten to many times before. .

Think you are right.
I've emailed the venue directly contact@mainsquarefestival.fr but as yet no reply. Doesn't bode well. Arrrrrgghh! Shut up already, damn.

Exactly the tickets will be fine but the hotels, trains etc will not be refundable. It would be terrible if fans lose there money again. FUNKNROLL! "February 2014, wow". 'dre.

I think someone thats fluent in French needs to speak to a booking manager or something, not some customer service person coz they usually know sod all, to find out why they've put the supports acts as playing on that date when their booked to play elsewhere and is Prince 100% guaranteed in playing, if so what prove do you have etc FUNKNROLL! The thing is, the venue problably don't know much more than us. They will say that the concert was booked by a promoter. Then won't be given any more detail until just before the show.
The dodgy link is the one between the promoter / artist management / artist. Even if the venue or promoter "confirm", Princey boy is still a law unto himself. .

I'D deffo hold off booking any flights or accomodation until someone has proof P will turn up this time
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
So you mean that 3 festivals -or their 'special' editions- are all saying that P will come play there without begint at least a bit sure about his arrival and willingness to do the work?
This is far bigger than Croke Park: Arras is 25K people, Werchter 40K+, and Roskilde has a field of 70K+? Total is around 135K people without a band?! Do you think that they will risk that? (`they` is: festival planners PLUS mr P) If he (P) tries to set the tone in Europe by not showing there are easier methods to get a bad reputation... Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

On the other hand, this is of course a `gem` in the list of mr P's great communication record:
By now, he could of course deny or confirm the shows on his website... Or in the media. Etc. But nothing happens, as usual. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

I do feel the same.
However, wouldn;t it be a shame if this actually put people off buying tickets and it was pulled due to low ticket sales?! If anyone's thinking about going, I say buy those tickets and let's at least get it sold out!!

But dont you think this is part of the fun now? Not knowing if he will turn up. You just had to laugh when he was at the O2 and then didnt turn up at the Indigo, we had so much fun , not knowing if we'd wasted our money till the last minute.

If he doesn't turn up then the fun begins!
We sue the organisers, they sue Prince. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Well of course Roskilde goes on with or without Prince. Its a festival with hundreds of different acts over 4 days. The other 2 shows are stand alone Prince gigs. I think this a bit different to Croke Park. that was a one off. I for one never believed that one was ever gonna happen. Homer Simpson: "I call the big one Bitey"!!

Can we confront the Arras promotors with this info? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Yes... Arras might still happen. Even if Larry is in Rotterdam and Mint Condition is in Kansas (but the next day in Werchter?). But how does P fill 3.5 hours? Even Berlin in 2002 was less long? Worst case scenario would be a cancellation and getting a refund on the ticket. I wouldn't risk not having tickets and Prince showing up anyway I love Prince and chocolate - in that order

co-add, co-add, co-add btw. had a lot of phones today with many hotels in arras - they are all booked out and all told me its because of the prince-concert. One even sent me a booking-form with prince-concert-advertise on it - so for me it seems, that the concert should take part. 3 events in 1 week - all booked him - so why shouldn't he come to europe - most of all - he needs money - he lost all his latest trials support acts: larry graham just found http://www.songkick.com/a...rry-graham - announced the concert at arras with p on 9th!!! mint condition: according to the fb-site of mint condition they are not at kansas on july 9th - look here: http://www.facebook.com/p...109?v=info furthermore it would be very suprising, if they play in kansas on the 9th and then in werchter on the 10th - having in mind that only the flight from kansas to europe will be a loss of about 7 hours in time - so if there would be a flight lets say at night from usa to europe (about 8 - 10 hours) and added 7 hours for the time difference I see no chance for playing them in werchter the next day - no manager would book his band that way ??? No, the indigo 2 shows were first sold as AFTERSHOWS. The words were changed by ticketmaster to AFTERPARTY when Prince failed to turn up to the third show and AFTER the tickets were sold out. My tickets say AFTERSHOW. .

My tickets say AFTERSHOW. Yep, they were sold as 'Prince Aftershow' tickets until people complained after Prince didn't play, but they were mostly sold out by then anyways, so people like me bought them expecting a Prince aftershow.
