i just hope that Shelby doesn't sing throughout the whole show.
Her job is a backing vocalist, not a lead singer

I couldn't agree more. She is a stage hogger. The only thing worse would be if Doug E Stale came on. God he's so boring and hogs the stage even more than Shelby mad

Shelby's great but actually even if it was just Prince and his accoustic purple or black guitar it would also be great!

I have replied with this...

Hello,

On your website you state that Prince IS playing on the last day!

You cannot advertise these artists if they are not confirmed.

Surely this can't be correct?

They have responded..

Hi again,

On our official website, we have not announced any dates for any bands/acts, yet. The complete schedule will be announced approx. mid June.
We do not announce unconfirmed bands on our website.

Best regards
Roskilde Festival

.....?????

This whole thing is stressing me out...

My mother got me tickets for my birthday, does anyone know if it will be a problem with her name on the tickets or not? (She is not going)

Also I’m going from Sweden to Belgium, anyone know where is the best to do, live in Brussels and go by train to the concert or? I really don’t want to live in a tent. razz
Will it be possible to get from the concert to Brussels or Amsterdam after the concert?

Anyone else going from Sweden?

Best is to get a hotel in Leuven - there are free buses running from the Leuven train station to Werchter. But a hotel in Brussels is of course an option too.
You can get back to Brussels by train after the gig but not to Amsterdam.
There are no night trains going to Holland from Belgium.

Okay, just had another response from Roskilde..

I asked them why they would not confirm he is playing? Did that mean he was unconfirmed still??

I actually said it much stronger than this and words to the affect that people would sue if they had bought tickets and they were still not sure if he was playing or not..

Hi again,

Try to make it clearer then, since you think a band, announced on our website is unconfirmed.

As stated in our last mail, we do NOT announce unconfirmed bands/acts on our website. We only announce confirmed bands/acts. And since i.e. Prince is announced on our website, he is confirmed.

The thing we have not announced, yet, is playing time/date. And as mentioned earlier this will be announced on our website approx. 2 weeks prior to the festival.

Hope to have clarified your misunderstanding. All acts on our website (see under the tab 'Music') have been confirmed. Otherwise they would obviously not have been announced.

Best regards

Roskilde Festival

Anyway looks positive now!!

Yes they seem incredibly defensive don't they.

You would think they would be 'Yeah Prince is definitely playing and we can't wait!'

They certainly don't sounds too sure. They probably haven't got a clue what's going on...

BlueAngel, to be safe take a copy of your mums passport and a note saying she is happy for you (named) to take her ticket - a long way to go to meet an awkward ticket inspector.

I've booked a room at the cheap enough Ibis hotel in Leuvren - think it's a twin room if anyone is looking drop me a line.

I haven't decided on times to head over to werchter yet - but as it seems a bit of a trek will do it earlier, rather than later, but have zero desire to see any of the supports, instead will probably do a bit of sightseeing!

Hi,

I'm Danish and have worked on Roskilde Festivalen in the past. The reason they don't want to be more specific about date / time is that they work until the last minut on other artists. But I'm sure they already have signed with Prince on date and time. They just want to have the full program done before going public.

Everybody is talking about Sunday but it's not confirmed. I think it could be Saturday as the bands unconfirmed for Saturday does not have a head act. But that's just my impression. You can see a list here

Tonia, as thousands of tickets are still available, you may need to give a better offer!

For big concerts there's a bus service from Leuven station to Werchter. It takes 10 minutes and it's a very easy connection. As to doing some sightseeing in Werchter: it's really 'in the fields' and there's not much to see, except for some funky cows if you're lucky. lol
