This is a good tribute act. But (personally)
when I see people "doing" Prince, It just ain't the same. Not even close! www.purplereign.net Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

I go to Vegas at least once a year and 2 years ago we checked out Purple Reign. One of the best nights I have ever had in Vegas. They did 2 Prince sets with a Time set in the middle. Even the DJ that played before the show was awesome.
I've seen the real deal too many times to count at this point but it's pretty cool to see Purple Reign do songs that the real Prince probably won't do any more.

Nothing beats the original bands or songs - be it Prince or any other musician(s). I love Prince and chocolate - in that order

It's funny you should ask this cos I was just thinking posting something about tributes:
I have played funk for the last 15 years, covered many prince tunes alongside original material, and with Prince being my favourite artist I've ofetn toyed with the idea of doing a full Prince show. However, recently I had a slightly different idea - what do think? A Prince 'tribute band', but instead of the whole "acting" like and dressing up like Prince and the band and mimicking his style(s), simply a kick-ass tight funk-soul band that covers a wide range of prince tunes (popular and not so well known), but just dressed in their normal gear, and not pretending to be Prince in any way? It would be all about PLAYING THE SONGS WELL, with an amazing (and he really is amazing) soul singer who doesn't sound like prince, but everyone loves his voice. Two brass, keys, bass, guitar + bv's. I'm thinking of getting something like this started in the south east (UK) in the new year. UK fans - would you go and see somethuing like that?
