Regardless, the thing is like 2200 words long, so if you want a detailed review, here you go: http://themusictionary.com/?p=2790 [All Day, All Night - How I Spent My Weekend At Paisley Park] Gonna have to read this. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I remember in Vegas, there was someone who had one and played it, off beat no less, through almost the whole show. Everyone around was getting totally annoyed and they're really distracting. I wish they wouldn't sell them until after the show. Co- to the co- to the co-sign. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

you have the set lists, some clarifications: the parking and bus ride was VERY CONVENIENT and EASY. At 10:30 they were still selling walk-up tickets. There were three cameras set up at the back of the room (concert was in the big sound stage, of course). there were couches set up for VIPs I got to meet and talk with: Bria, Larry Graham, George Clinton, Morris Hayes. They were selling 3121 Tambourines, CDs, and a 3 dollar coat check that filled up fast. Also bottled water for 3 bucks. It was sprinkling a little when we left, other wise it was a mild evening. Also, when Prince opened, he opened with No More Candy 4 U and he started and stopped ON PURPOSE. As in teasing "no more 4 u" then good night. Then he came back, did it a little longer, then "good night" again. He was HAVING FUN! It was an incredible show, and any bootleg will never do it justice. Nice details, thanks! That's cool George Clinton was there too, nice to know they're still in contact occasionally. This sounds like it was a great show, thanks to all of you guys for your reports! I always find it hard to try and post anything sensible after a show, besides "OMG HE WAS AWESOME!!". I'm just a jumbled mess inside for awhile, all the stress/anticipation in the buildup to the show, then the super excitement from the show and the subsequent euphoria, leaves me in a deaf and dumb state for a couple of days. ♥ Feeling Purple Rain...Don't hold on 2 the pain, hold on 2 the memories ♥

I thought he said if you have a problem with us then we have a problem with you. Either way, was glad he said it. The constant ripping on Larry is so juvenile and unwarranted. I LOVE watching the man play bass. He is a living LEGEND. He also plays a vital role in Prince's life and spiritual evolution, so bravo Larry! ♥ Feeling Purple Rain...Don't hold on 2 the pain, hold on 2 the memories ♥

Now that I'm back home and have had a chance to relax a little, I just wanted to try to put together some more coherent thoughts (like I'll be able to now, lol). Honestly, having never been at PP before, this entire experience was just so perfect for me. I booked my flight at 12AM on Friday night, and arrived in Minneapolis at 2:30 on Saturday afternoon. Gave my extra ticket to a lovely friend of heidiv, and the lovely ladies gave me a ride to Paisley Park. Being in college still, I don't really know many Prince fans (don't get me started on how people could even possibly prefer shit like Fergie or Ne-Yo to Prince), so it was pretty awesome for me to spend the night in a room where everyone...got it, y'know? I mean, it's great.
Anyway, I just felt like...the whole evening was sort of magical, it was like a dream or something. I shouldn't have been able to afford it, but everything went off without a hitch, and when Prince took the stage...well, I knew it was DEFINITELY worth it. A hundred times over. The set list was so incredible, it was perfect for me. I know some people don't like it when he plays a ton of hits, but I haven't heard a lot of them live, so I was thrilled. Parade is my favorite album by far, so I was ecstatic that he played Anotherloverholenyohead, Mountains, and Sometimes It Snows in April (I almost cried, it was so lovely). It just felt like this amazing three hour long dance party, the crowd was so fun and FUNKY (anyone who's been to GA concerts that AREN'T Prince knows how awful it can be), and I was right on the side where he kept walking in and out, and I couldn't help myself, I reached out and touched him, his hand, right by his sleeve. Felt like a TOTAL creep/freak, but when am I ever gonna be that close to Prince again? I mean, it was just an amazing show. Everything from Jackson 5 covers to songs from MPLS/Lotus, to the hits, to dancing his cute little butt off during Kiss, to just straight up FUNK w/ Larry Graham. Is there a reason Prince fans seem to hate on him so hard? That man is a living LEGEND and seeing him and P rock out together was awesome. As Prince said, if you got a problem.... This is a dorky moment but I also have to say I'm really glad Elisa Fiorillo was singing backup, because I used to have SUCH a major crush on her. Loved hearing her do "Shake Your Body Down to the Ground". I hope there are more Paisley shows in the future, I'd definitely go back again, what a kickass time. Wish I had known they were selling tambourines and stuff, I would've bought a souvenir for myself, I was a little distracted by everything going on around me to even think to look for any kind of merchandise. Oh well, there's always next time, right? Does anyone remember the part after he played a solo and then said something along the lines of "Bet your boyfriend can't do that.", or something? It cracked me up, I wish I remembered it exactly/what song it was during. My boyfriend can't actually do that. And I have to say, for all the hateraide I was sippin' (I'm still not that impressed w/ her album, but regardless...) Bria is very very beautiful in person, and if P is seeing her, I totally understand why. And if he ain't, he can have my number! Anyway, thought it was SO cool to end up in the Star Tribune the next day, total surprise, and it was AWESOME getting to meet all you ladies, really, had the best time of my life!

motherfunka said: Shyra said: Well, that wasn't very nice... No, it actually wasn't. He's been known to make fun of the people that get up on stage to dance. Many times, with good reason. I want to know what is shim? My understanding it is thin piece of material. If he said Him Sh Like one of the org said. That was in bad taste. And some of the people not all of them male and female talk how Bria looks.By the way she likes nice to me,maybe to others she doesn't. So if he meant some of the ladies ok, but not all of them should have gotten the Bird. Well maybe I'am reading to much in to this. [Edited 10/27/09 6:57am]

He didn't speak to her, he walked over to "shim" and made the gesture like he wanted a low five, then high five...and every time he would move his hand away so she couldn't do it. You know??? Like psyche??? I am not saying he was angry while he was doing all this, he was making fun of her though. It was pretty apparent. Really??? I guess we all (me included) see what we want to see.
