hope she had fun, she was all by herself...she needed to come down and dance! Is that who that was? Man, she sat there for a long time after the show was over, too. Didn't talk to anyone (that I saw), barely even looked around. Very odd. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I've been to many concerts at the park, this one was one of the best, longest, smoothest I've seen and Prince was in a very happy mood. He shut it down right at 2am..if not for the city, I think he would have kept playing. &&& he used to play until sunrise at PP. I highly doubt theres a curfew there on the outskirts of Chanhassen. After all, he STARTED at 2:45 am on 7/7/7 at first avenue. anyway, shane [Edited 10/25/09 9:35am] I would normally agree with you, but this event was too organized with the busses and support staff and for him to start on time and end right at 2am. I think that was his established cut-off for the night.

I've never been to a gig at PP so I can't compare this with the past shows there like other posters here can, but I had an absolutely electric time. I too was right on the side where Prince entered and exited and got to touch his arm at one point, which sounds like a really silly thing to be excited about, but man, it was pretty cool to see him that close after being a fan for all those years. And I gotta say, there was really something awesome about hearing all those songs played at PP as opposed to other places, there really was. I was so happy that he did Sometimes It Snows in April/Mountains/Anotherloverholenyohead, because Parade is really really special to me and I was REALLY hoping to hear some stuff off that, and I agree with everyone who said Forever in My Life was beautiful and so great. Turn Me Loose was great, and Purple Rain was completely unreal, the effects at the end of it were completely new to me. I mean, really, it was just a 3 hour party, I met so many great, lovely people and I don't think I stopped smiling/dancing the entire time I was there. Amazing!

Up front, slightly to right of Prince and right there at him when he came down from the stage and walked by to escort a certain someone away from the front of the stage.
Need I say how great it was to be at The Park for an up close and personal look at Prince performing, no rocking the house! " a newborn child knows nothing of destruction, nothing of love & hate"

Well,if the report of this being the last show for 2009, it seems a fitting performance . And it all went off without a hitch and on time too. Great setlist, a Paisley Park return and a Paisley Park mood. All is well/right in the purple universe again.

I couldn't agree more. That was AWESOME. His little dance moves were great too. There was nothing wrong with that hip tonight! My biggest highlight has to be Forever In My Life. That could have gone on for another hour and I woulda been in heaven. Those 10 minutes were worth the price of admission. Anotherlover was fricking amazing too. Stopping the song so he could pull out his other guitar and do it justice... awesome. And it was very, very happy to hear Mountains. i know...i LOVED that forever in my life....it went on forever...and it could have went on even longer... <3 i had a such a blast. danced my ass off and had so much fun with all the purple people :handbang: thanks to you prince et all! <3 vi

Dauphin said: INCREDIBLE SHOW
you have the set lists, some clarifications: the parking and bus ride was VERY CONVENIENT and EASY. At 10:30 they were still selling walk-up tickets. There were three cameras set up at the back of the room (concert was in the big sound stage, of course). there were couches set up for VIPs I got to meet and talk with: Bria, Larry Graham, George Clinton, Morris Hayes. They were selling 3121 Tambourines, CDs, and a 3 dollar coat check that filled up fast. Also bottled water for 3 bucks. It was sprinkling a little when we left, other wise it was a mild evening. Also, when Prince opened, he opened with No More Candy 4 U and he started and stopped ON PURPOSE. As in teasing "no more 4 u" then good night. Then he came back, did it a little longer, then "good night" again. He was HAVING FUN! It was an incredible show, and any bootleg will never do it justice. Nice details, thanks! That's cool George Clinton was there too, nice to know they're still in contact occasionally. This sounds like it was a great show, thanks to all of you guys for your reports! I always find it hard to try and post anything sensible after a show, besides "OMG HE WAS AWESOME!!". I'm just a jumbled mess inside for awhile, all the stress/anticipation in the buildup to the show, then the super excitement from the show and the subsequent euphoria, leaves me in a deaf and dumb state for a couple of days.

What an incredible night! Prince...at his house for 3 hours...and for only $31.21? Really? The only negative from our end...Prince actually started on time! HJ35 and I missed "No More Candy 4 U" and my fav, "Old Skool Company" b4 coming in on "Stand". I don't mind the being on time though...not Prince's fault, all ours. Despite that...it was just so much fun to be back at the Park. So many people already provided the set lists and gave such wonderful accounts of the evening, that I do not have much more to add...but U really did have to be there. I did see security bust someone with their iPhone/Blackberry taking some images of the stage...he was promptly escorted out...and they were truly enforcing that last night in Prince's house.
I have been 2 the Park many a time, and this was one of the most memorable nights at Prince's house I can recall. Maybe that is because he has not played in his house for over 5 years...and he was genuinely happy 2 be there. And I will concur with many of the other observations in regards to "Sometimes it Snows in April" (or even October ), "Forever in My Life", "Kiss" and the guitar solo on "Purple Rain". I also loved how he took his songs and made us break into a black sweat with "Cool", "The Bird", which he called a "ballad" to set us up, along with "Jungle Love" and "Glamorous Life". I also really dig "Dance 4 Me" and the live arrangement. Oh, and "Northside" And 4 all those who commented on Larry's playing...he is a master basser and that bass line that Prince dug so much...wow!! Prince and Larry just "soloing" it up 2gether...now that was a moment to cherish cuz it was fonky!! Also, as mentioned, George Clinton was in the house and HJ and I were wondering if we were going to get a little "Booty Ain't Nuthin' But a Butt" Much Love 2 Prince, the band and everyone else at the Park last night 4 an incredible night!!! We were truly lucky to be a part of such a great night! Love4oneanother...is the only way...Peace We need 2 come 2gether, come 2gether as ONE

Man, that set list sounds like THE SHIT!.....The man seems to be at peace with himself and his career....As much as I get on Prince sometimes for the way he handles his business, I can't front on his passion for music and his ability to still do work onstage...He's the real deal....

THANK U PRINCE for an AMAZING show!!!
I had a great time meeting new friends at the show... A smart idea setting up of the parking lot to park & ride for free so no one would get towed or ticketed for parking around Paisley Park. THANKS!!! Prince was in a great mood after getting the sound he wanted from the soundboard guy & the set-list for the show was incredible as many of you have already read. I LOVED his furry boots with the clear heal and the flashing red lights in the heels...COOL!!!

i always get a bit sad right after and the next day wondering when the next time i will see him again. the kind of sad when i was a kid and would visit my granny and wouldnt want to leave. [Edited 10/25/09 13:15pm] To make a thief, make an owner; to create crime, create laws.
