It was a benefit for Mayor Sharon Sayles Belton. Tickets were 100.00. A lot of politicians, lol. Needless to say they stayed in there seats, but there was about 20-30 feet between the tables and the stage. He did another show later that same night too. Totally different crowd, thank God! Can't Prince even mention God anymore without someone on the Org taking offense to it? Sheesh. I'm not saying I was offended. It was just hilarious and took me out of the moment. Aside from that it was one of the best performances I have ever seen of the song.

Yes, that was very, very weird. And I was a little worried it was gonna continue past the few sentences he said but thankfully he just played his guiter. |

Yeah I'm okay with him praising Jehovah but he sounded really desperate and afraid there and that combined with his limping and seeming fraility at the end of the show has me really afraid for him.

Um .... I think frail is a bit much, he seemed to dance and push around big huge speakers that night, not to mention that arm of his felt strong to me- yeah he needed to get off of that right leg perhaps he overextended causing the sudden pain. He's not feeble looks good facial wise ... better than how his pictures comes out some of the time. Whatever is bringing him physical pain in his leg hopefully can be fixed if not, let's say hypothetically speaking his physicians were to tell him it's something he can get by with it as long as he knows his limits then he'll push through it. You know Prince can rock out till 6 am I am sure you mean well but just imagine anyone who dances-types-runs after awhile pain occurs just thankfully his hands are fine imagine if after all the years of playing instruments would cause issues with his hands after all we are human.

What concert were you at? I didn't hear any of that - and I was right up front. He made one quick callout - "There is a God, y'all!" and that was it. No desperation. No fear. I think you're letting your own feelings color this beyond what it was. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

For some reason I remember him saying it twice and sounding really emphatic and defensive about it. We'll see if I'm right on the bootleg.
