Will Prince ever do a full scale tour?

Will Prince ever do a full scale world tour including Japan and maybe Australia?
What do u think? He is 51 years now and the past tells he maybe won´t.

I know u´ll never know but i have the feeling that this won´t happen anymore.

The last European and Japanese tour was back in 2002 and the last US tour
happened in 2003 and 2004. Then he began to settle down in Las Vegas in 2006
and London in 2007. Recently, he prefers doing single concerts that happen
with a short notice before the show (see LA, Montreux, Monaco, Paris).

I really miss Prince touring with a tour schedule that will be announced
months before the shows so everybody can plan considering vacation, hotels etc.

Prince shows turned more and more into VIP shows during the last years. Unfortunately...

In his most recent interviews, he said he rathers small venues and concerts to tours nowadays.
I swear the words "HATER" is wayyy over-rated...smh

What I don't understand is that he rehearses a set for weeks in September before travelling to Paris. From what he's said, the shows he did were spur of the moment decisions once he was there. So, his plan was to rehearse a show and then travel abroad with no venues or concerts planned? It just doesn't make sense. He fell in love with the Grand Palais during a fashion show he attended. So what would have happened if it was already booked? One very exclusive show (Cigale) half filled with invited VIPs? What on earth has he been rehearsing for? He's now gone back to the US it seems. Very odd . . .

yea. but he always says that. he said that before musicology and before 21 nights. i think if there is enough money in it', he'll do it.

It turns out he was able to do three shows and be on TV without planning weeks ahead.

I guess this will be the same at _insert random date_ in _insert random city_.

I personally think this is a good thing. If he would do a world tour he would spend his time with the same show/band/style for more than one year.

Like this we get different styles in the same year and very nice very different live shows.

I think sooner or later, he'll decide that he should take the $20 - $40 million he can make off a major tour at least one more time.

Its all well and good people saying that they prefer it whe p just turns up and plays some gigs at short notice, BUT what about those fans that have to save up for a while for tickets, hotels etc, and also have families? P in some way is distancing himself from those fans that have kept faith with him and bought his music, tickets, merchandise throughout the 80's, 90's and up to 2007!!! Yes, i know it's his choice but he's happy for those fans to buy his cd's when he releases them. Could i afford 100 euro ticket, £250 flight and hotel accomodtion for one night, with 7 days notice. No and i'm sure there are thousands like me. I'm not asking for Prince to do a world tour but try and give us more than 7 days notice next time
AND ON THE 7TH DAY OF THE 6TH MONTH..GOD CREATED FUNK!!!

I know you can't take *everything* Prince says as gospel, but he said in one of the french interviews that he'd much rather play live and release the occasional CD.

That might mean a string of smaller concerts, moving region to region - in a sense a mini-tour (less notice). Or the same thing, but pre-warned? Maybe through the neglected lotusflow3r.com site?

Prince playing live is a good thing either way wink

It´s not about his age i think.
Look at Mick Jagger (66), Angus Young (54), even Tina Turner (close to 70).
They all do full scaled world tours and rock the house.

Relax, I think I lot of these small shows has a lot to do with the economy. At it turns around so will Prince and I would not be surprised to see a large scale tour before the next decade ends.

I think that ALL the people that ask this question "will prince ever do a full scale tour again" have to sit DOWN,relax and realise that the 21 nights in London was sold and hyped on the basis that THIS WAS THE LAST TIME U WILL SEE AND HEAR PRINCE DO ALL HIS HITS!!!!!
As for the space between 2007 when this event happened and now it has been a random sprinkle of LA parties,a corn field in Cali(for $4 million) a jazz festival(again megabucks) a few French afterdinner entertainment functions and a PaisleyPark revival.....NO,a WORLD TOUR doesn't seem likely but hey,if it's gonna happen,IT WILL HAPPEN,so put your wishes back under your pillow and STOP!!

It's getting TEDIOUS people!!!!! stfu

Until he gets his physical issues handled, I think it'd be hard for him to do a tour.

And for those who complain about not being able to plan for hit and runs because they don't have a chance to save up for them...

You don't need a Prince tour announcement to start a "Purple Rain-y day" fund. I know lots of people who sock money away "just in case." shrug
