To bad I had only tickets for the 2nd gig.
First of all we had to wait a whole hour because of the sound problems.
But 2nd, and most important, the quality of the music and sound was perfect. Only a playing time of 1:30 is a little bit to short. to my oppinion

Anyone that went to P's show in Montreux...did he or did he NOT mention or dedicated any song to mjj?

Friday at the MAD Club ( Prince with a girl )

During the rehearsal Prince play 3 songs to Mickael Jackson.
( saturday afternoon )

director of the video of the concert Dave Richards ( Prince provides care to capture video during the rehearsal )

30 min before the show, Prince sing the Gospel ( Warm )

1st SHOW.

After the 1st show, prince return to the hotel and see the video of the show.

She call the director and be complimented for the good work.

She look the Lake Geneva from the hotel room.

Go to the 2nd Show.

2nd SHOW.

After the 2nd show, prince return to the hotel and see the video of the show.

MJ Café ( Montreux Jazz Café ) Prince observe the scene, too many people, Prince renounces at the Aftershow.

Show on DVD, possible. The editor regrets the lack of hit.

Sunday, Prince go to Lisbone( it expects the aircraft in his limousine ), Manager of Prince go to New York.

Regarding rehearsal:

A friend and I got past the bodyguards Friday evening (after being asked to leave twice) and listened to Prince and band rehearse. We sat deep into the building (Le Petit Palais) behind thin wooden panels and held our breath while listening to the rehearsal and the chatter between the songs - scared of being caught in the act. That was a truly magical way of getting prepared for the actual shows. Here's what I listened to:

- All The Critics Love U In Montreux
- Peach
- Calhoun Square
- Get Loose
- When I Lay My Hands On U
- Insatiable
- Nothing Compares 2 U

I have to say, that I really, really dug Calhoun Square, but that one never showed up in the shows.

Right now I am listening to Little Red Corvette from the first show (also found on LotusFlow3r.com) and I am so grateful to actually being able to re-live such a phenomenal performance. The slow guitar groove really sets my mind on fire.

Anyway, my trip to Montreux was worth every dollar (and there were a lot).
