Prince 3/28 Appreciation Thread! Despite the obvious sound issues that plagued Prince all night, I just wanted to utilize this thread to THANK Prince for working so hard to give us three awesome and different concerts. From the classics to heart-wrenching rock to soul-swaying jazz and rare gems, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the concerts. Thank you so much Prince for continuing to go above and beyond the ordinary! You just keep getting better with time.

i second that. i was on my feet the entire show at the theatre. despite the sound stuff... and maybe i don't know much, but sounded fine from where we were for the most part.
i was throwing the wild sign, participated in the call and responses, sang every single song, did every dance (including kiss and the bird) and had a ball. prolly lost a pound or two cos i was sweating like i did aerobics. THANK YOU P FOR THE SHOW AND FOR STICKING IN THERE. i am not a disappointed person. been with ya since i was 11 and you played in VA at the hampton coliseum! back in the early 80s. thank you. and can we all give a little positivity? take his lead. he tried to stay positive through it all and gave us a good show when it comes down to it. [Edited 3/30/09 19:06pm] is STYLE catching a plane to LA to see P when u know ur broke azz got bills?

I'm 33 and have been a fan since I was about 9. I've seen him 21 times now and these were some of my all-time favorite shows. They were worth every penny I spent!

The theatre show was the best I could have ever imagined!!! I will remember it for the rest of my life! I caught Prince's sunglasses and then got to go up onstage and hug Prince!!!!!
At 18, I already feel like one of my dreams has been crossed off of my list! [Edited 3/30/09 21:12pm]

I am glad airbak started this thread to show some love for Prince and the Band(s). I cannot see how anyone can complain about the shows with regard to performance and setlists. I never go to a Prince show expecting anything but greatness. However, this just blew me out of the water. The three band, three different vibes concept was awesome! I loved the mainstream show because it gave the mainstream crowd (that doesn't go to every Prince show or listen to/view countless boots)the Prince they know and love. The Conga Room show was just classic. That one was in a world of it's own. P, Sonny and Michael B were untouchable putting down rock with a soul/funk vibe. Seeing Ron Wood in the audience sing along to Prince ripping "With a Little Help from My Friends" was priceless. P kicking it off with "I'm Yours" almost left me comatose, and the arrangment of "Empty Room" that he played finally made me realize why people love that song so much. It was amazing. I could have ended the night at the Conga Room and still been in heaven. The Club Nokia show was the cherry on top. The afterhours, cool jazz vibe was sweet, and the song selection... All I could say was wow! "From When I Lay My Hands on You" to "In A Large Room With No Light" to the sorching "Beautiful Ones," he was in another galaxy by that point. The last two shows were a hardcore fan's delight. I knew every song he played and loved every single moment. Much love and respect to Prince and crew for a beautiful night! perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

Honestly, stories of saturday night will be told until the day I die! (whether my wife likes it or not, lol) All joking aside, I'm sure prince understands what he's doing when he brings a few knuckleheads up on stage with him like he did saturday. To turn around and see thousands in front of me and get to "be in prince's shoes" for just a few moments will be something that will be replayed in my mind countless times for the rest of my life!

No, I was the other white guy . Did you get any pictures with you up there? I was the big white guy in the purple shirt that had no business being up on stage. It was honestly a big blur but the only other white guy I remember up there with me was the singer? My wife got a few pics with her phone, but the quality isn't too good. I'm hoping to somehow end up with a pic or two, if for no other reason than to have proof that it actually happened!
