YES! This makes me so happy that yall got fucked after seeing the American Disabilities Act Civil Rights Violation seating chart 4 this show, which stuck the handicapped in the last row of each section! Prince has bad karma, I hope his shitty triple album crashes and burns!

Your handicap appears to be that you are a giant baby. Why don't you piss and bitch more about things that aren't Prince's fault?

Sounds like one of those things.

Prince hoped the sound would be better... it wasn't.

He ex[ected the crowd to be more into the set list... they weren't

So he said "fuck it" and called it an early night.

It does happen once in awhile... unfortunately for you... he was due for one of these 'bad' shows.

Happened to me in Chi-town years ago on the Lovesexy tour. Went first night along with 25 thousand or more... but he played a ton of stuff early from Lovesexy few were familiar with and the crowd was not feeling it. I was probably the only person in my section all into it. We only got about 90 minutes of a 3+ hour set.

I suspected we got cut short when he never used the Thunderbird prop or sang Alphabet st.

Of course he dissed us the next night. Friends who went told me he made a crack ahbout how dead the 'last nights' audience were... and he went on to perform for over an hour longer than he did for us.

And oh... Prince has little to fdo with the seating chart. You have issues with that you take it up with the owners of the venue.

Damn! It'd be pissed too. Don't rush to judgment though - did you see the first two shows? The Conga Room would've renewed your Prince-Vigor - it did mine. After that, I suddenly felt Prince still has it. I'm glad I didn't go to the nokia club though - sounds disheartening

You shouldn't be glad about missing something which you might have enjoyed, especially with some of the songs he played. There are a lot of people reporting that they had a great time at the last show. Just as you liked the first, some didn't. That's why I'll always take a chance when I can, I don't want to miss something special.

You know what it felt like? An aftershow...like he showed up at a club and started jamming. You can tell the energy was down, but what do you expect? I'd say the set lists for each show were almost determined by the type of bcking band he had...and there was no way the main show was going to contain tons of ballads and covers...the last 2 shows were for the die hards who appreciate the music...so it worked for some and not for others. after 2 shows, I really wasn't expecting a full blown concert at the Club Nokia...it was more of a jam session, and I'm cool with that.

EXACTLY!

We were at the 1st show and were thrilled to nab tix for the last show as well because we knew it would have his "aftershow" vibe (which we dig) For people who have never experienced many of his aftershows, they would not like nor understand how they play out (i.e. the long slow jazz jams, etc.) The only issues we had was the giant line outside and the fact that his set was cut short. Again though, I think those two things were beyond his control. If it were up to him, he would have had those doors open earlier and would not have gone on stage until everyone was there. As far as the sound issues, I still thought he sounded great from our vantage point at both shows. On occasion, we heard some humming/buzzing but not near as bad as what Prince and his band were hearing on stage.

In my opinion Prince should of done just one show on Saturday. One concert at a good venue, sound check all day and then rock a 3+ hour show. That's just my opinion and hindsight is 20/20. Hopefully most of the patrons for the three shows still enjoyed Prince and the concerts.

I saw all three shows. While the Conga room was by far the best, I enjoyed the Club Nokia show (ith the exception of the extended Renato solos) far more than the first which was just regurgitated hits. It all comes down to personal preferences and awareness.

Prince is notorious for being historically late, poorly organized and fickle. Anyone who thought they were going to show up for the third set and get the greatest hits was probably dilusional.

sounds like everything that has ever gone wrong at a Prince show happened this night

the big one for Prince is the sound

if that is messed up, it seems to really bother him - so much that it almost kills the mood and everything else

also sounds to me like they are warming up for a big tour (hits with his band and aftershows with his ex-band members)

he needs to get rid of AEG

well to be fair some people who work for AEG said that prince didnt let the nokia use their own sound people who work other events...prince bought his own sound man who wasnt familiar with the systems. They were mad because they were getting blamed and prince's people was running the sound in their place.

But that doesn't explain complaints about the sound during other shows there, sounds like they're trying to pass the buck.

Guess he could only do so much with what he was given?

I don't know which sound guy it is, but if he's done other shows with Prince, no one has mentioned the sound being bad, that I recall anyway. If it was his guy's fault, I think you would've been able to tell by Prince's reactions.

I haven't heard any complaints about the Conga room, were there problems there?

Also, some have said that the last show's sound wasn't very bad where they were, that it was worse for Prince than them. shrug

Clearly, of the 3 shows, the Club Nokia show was the "Elixer" concert. Can you imagine the wrath if Bria had performed instead of him? Yikes...

seeing all three shows I will say the first was not my cup of tea. a ton of hits and I was sitting in the mezzanine section cuz those were the only ticketmaster tix I purchased. I even left early to go get a good spot at conga which I did and that show rocked. I mean pure rocker style rocked. By the time I got to the last show I needed to calm down cuz my feet were killin m from all the standing in lines waiting to get in and in the shows waiting for the shows to start. The last show was totally intimate and once again I was standing right by the front. I do agree with the person that wrote this thread why would Prince come play a venue that he had issues with the sound from a past Alicia Keys concert he attended. The speakers had an annoying buz coming out of them and it took Prince at least 10 minutes to stand near it and notice it and say something. He looked pretty livid once he heard it. All in all I enjoyed the last two shows the best and the first show I really wasn't feelin hardly at all but I guess I've been a bit spoiled lately.

conga sound was pretty good. The new sound guy has only been around for like a month. Club Nokia sound had problems at least we could here it right in front of the stage. Plus a friend told me he saw George Clinton there and the sound sucked.

According to the onstage clock, the show started at about 12:50 and I might be mistaken but, I think it ended at 2:20. That would mean that it was the 90 minute show that was promised, right?

Maybe they should have advertised the shows a little better to let people know what they were in for. If you are just a casual fan, you should have gone to the first show so you could hear some hits and some 70's covers.

The other shows were for the hardcore fans, the Conga Room show was the "rock" show and the Club Nokia show was the jazz show.

I don't know how much of the blame you can put on Prince for people not getting in before the show started. It seemed like Club Nokia's staff was to blame for that. Only having one person giving out the "pit" wristbands for 400 people was pretty dumb.

I can't complain. I got in before the show started, was close to the front, and got to hear When Eye Lay My Hands On U and A Large Room With No Light live. And we got through a show without a bunch of covers.

The only I could have done without was the Renato solos. Prince really loves listening to that guy play. I, on the other hand, don't. I would rather hear some more guitar solos.

Responses you will get from the org,Jestyr

1) Quit yer complainin! Translation: you paid 100.00 to see the purple one. It's worth it because it helps pay for his expenses to the Lotus experience. You will see the light soon! (OOoooo the Lotus! )

2) I had a great time, I don't know what your complaining about Translation: I like watching lounge by the numbers covers that lack serious energy and I enjoyed my evening & will never admit I got ripped off.

3) It was the venue's fault not Princes! Translation: I will never admit that prince is an ass to venue's regarding Sound & most people just end up not messing with him.

4) Piss off! Prince doesnt owe you nothing Translation: I am unable to criticially think at anything . I get angry if it's not a positive comment about Prince. I have emotional issues & my parents dropped me on my head alot

5) Well, it was an aftershow and that requires jamming, you should be happy you paid 100 dollars just to see him on stage. Translation: I am absolutely clueless what to say but I thought I would add my 2 cents.

6) I heard it was amazing, quit yer whining Translation: I am clueless about your situation & I have let Prince music warp my mind to a vat of purple new power sludge

7) Prince can't please everyone. You shouldn't have gone to the first show Translation: I like adding commentary after the event has taken place. That way I can add my Captain obvious moments

8)Ugh Ugh Ugh Newpowersoul Ugh Ugh Ugh Translation: I am retarded and I spend all my money on Prince & cant communicate verbally anymore

9) My boyfriend and I had a great time! We had fun WHOOO! Translation: We were a little tipsy & dont remember much! But I think we enjoyed ourselves!

and

the big hang

10) Everyone just calm down. Everyone has a valid point about their experience

Translation: I like to think of myself as a negotiator. I enjoy bullshitting forums to think that I am not biased & act like Dr Phil of prince org. I didn't go to the show but somehow I think I can mediate a proper balance of views.

I think that about sums it up
