Secondly, and on a more positive note - That incident was a great T.V. moment. Your reaction was priceless and it was caught brilliantly by the camera man. It looked like you were holding the truth to all the worlds mysteries in your palms! Particularly enjoyed the part where you held the guitar above your head to the crowd. Punctuated by the music, It felt like an event.. a piece of Prince musical history. Lucky you! not fond of the term "indian giver"... but yeah that was a great tv moment... you held that guitar up as though you were Moses just coming down the mountain with the two tablets "That...magic, the start of something revolutionary-the Minneapolis Sound, we should cherish it and not punish prince for not being able to replicate it."-Dreamshaman32

Handing his guitar to fans is part of a ritual Prince does during his performances. He passes and hands his guitar for fans to hold or touch, and his tech guys always retrieves it from the fans, because you're suppose to give it back, not keep it,as most Prince fans are aware of that. .or didn't you know that? Funny story that you're calling him an "indian giver" though when he really never gave it to you for keeps... You may have insulted some Natives with that term though, so you may want to remove that from your article. [Edited 3/27/09 10:18am] He's a fan So if he's a fan, and been to any concerts of late, then he should know that guitar wasn't for keeps although it was a "priceless" moment for him. : [Edited 3/27/09 10:24am]

wish that was me, I would have strapped up and tried to get a couple of pentatonic licks in before they took it away
that was so cool, you could still hear the feedback when you held the guitar up towards the crowd

The guy writes for TMZ and I read a weekly column of his and he mentions Prince quite a bit. He actually wrote about going to all 3 lenos and the concerts this weekend. Christian Zombie Vampires

I've seen P hand his guitar to fans like that before, but they had to give it back of course. I remember at the Nokia in NYC this girl actually tried to hold on to P's guitar and was pushing people away from touching it, thinking it was hers to keep...well at least until his techs came and retrieved it... Of course you were not going to get to keep a multi-thousand dollar, custom hardware guitar, which seems to be Prince's favorite at the the moment. That said, you should ran like a muthafucka for the nearest exit with that thing. Off topic... what the hell is Harvey Levin always sippin' on during the show? Gin and tonic? Sunny-D? Crystal Light? Liquified stem-cells? I gotta know. ditto to all that i don't hate ya, nyquil but i can be envious of those front row seats!! oh yeah, change the damn title. not cool

Ease up people... He's just asking if Prince owes him a guitar to make a twist to the article...
Very cool reaction when he stood there with the guitar in his hands!!! Aka Mister T at moquake.com

Did TMZ get you those seats?
lolol If so, you should not be crying over a guitar that you knew that he was never going to "give-away". You were in the front row probably because of TMZ.

i would have taken the guitar and stuffed it down my pants (that's what we call underwear in the UK, not trousers) and casually walked away. prince wouldn't want the guitar back after it had been in my pants

I don't think Takumi is his guitar tech anymore. Isn't it the quite tall guy with blond hair in a pony tail? At least it was at the O2.. Aka Mister T at moquake.com

The guitar was still plugged-in even though they may have killed the sound.. Noise and possible electric shock?

it took them 30 seconds to find out that NyQuil didn't pay the $77, therefore he had to give it back!!! [Edited 3/27/09 11:18am]

The look on your face=Priceless!
What a sweet moment. have been unable to read your article because work is blocking it! Not sure about the Indian Giver comment...will have to read that. -you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
This is easy:
Did Prince give it to you and say 'Here is one of my most precious things and you may keep it. I don't need it anymore. Here really it is yours'? If he didn't then you are lucky that you were allowed to hold on his guitar while it still reverberated. Holding something doesn't make it you own. The question alone is bizar. Nevertheless, you are the reason I started my day smiling because the act at the end of the song and the 'Icannotbelievethis' face (which I can imagine). So thanks for making me smile. I found the Leno appearance not really noteworthy untill this part. [Edited 3/27/09 11:23am]
