Yes. time IS catching up with Mr Prince. One must remember - when one reaches a certain age - its not advisable to do too many high kicks and low splits. The groinal region must be treated with care, and anyhow - one cant see as well as one used to. One doesn't have to reach as high as one used to either....
Yaaaaawnnnn..... here's another generically funky little tune I came up with in my sleep - I'll just stick the chords from Purple Rain at the top because it shows how cheeky and clever I am..... I'll just do exactly the same punches, stops and starts that you all can predict from my last 8 albums and I'll just use the ..... same..... yawn.... chords..... ahhhh.. yawn - but ... in a a different..... orderrrrr..... yawn.....zzzzz.

Was a good performance, but I wonder if he knows he's been singing that same "melody" for over 10 years.
I can't remember any of the song. Not the name, not the hook, nothing. I do remember enjoying the performance, however. My Legacy

I saw it, I wasn't impressed, not even with the guitar solo! I guess him being in bed with Ticketbastard is giving him bad karma, and his music is sucky as a result! Cool!

http://www.nbc.com/The_To...id=1072661 There's a commercial to sit through and whatnot, but you can fast-forward to about the 38 minute mark to see the performance. [edited date to 3/25 in thread subject] This is the Ol' Skool Company performance, btw. [Edited 3/26/09 9:59am]

What happend to his mind set of not repeating himself.I am tired of this long over play nod to the 'ol school....I get it, we all get it, its cool n all and give it much respect, but lets move on and do somethng else for a change. ----- Mpls CD is old school and Lotus is the rock cd. He will do a song from each CD over the 3 nights. I can’t figure out why some people on this board can’t figure this stuff out.

been waiting all day down here in Cornwall 2 c this.....fantastic - u the man, P!! "you guys gotta shout louder than that!" - Prince at the back of the audience b4 going on stage at Indigo2 10 Sept 12.29am

Wow!
That exceeded my expectations! Not even close! To NDRU, yeah, the melody does sound pretty familiar, not dead on, but I hear 'exodus has begun' (rap at the end), 'dear mr man' and 'musicology'. And yes, the singers did that '2001/also sprach' thing which he did a lot in '98. But most importantly, who is playing that synth? Goddamn! That bassline works miracles! Especially near the end. WOW! I read a lot of positive remarks by people who seldom visit this site, so I took it as bandwagon folk or possibly PR folk, but this MPLSound seems really decent.

I just saw a show in NY that tore that performance a new one. And it was just a bassist and a drummer! The harmonica player was the best thing about that. I remember when the Jam came with toast and a strong melody. Not just filler. His playing skills are still great - it's WHAT he is playing that bogs it down.

It's kinda funny to see Halle and Prince together because his ex wife is now dating her ex husband.. HAHA! I know right? They should just make the circle complete...woo-hoo! Besides why should Halle have a hothothot model, when she can have a hothothot musician...uh ego-trippin to the max! 'Love will be your Soldier' - Nikka Costa

He probably wrote it in 15 minutes. I don't even know what that's supposed to mean. Just a big spoonful of funky JAM? you say he probably wrote it in 15 min? And ? the point would be? some of the best poetry I've ever written flowed from me faster than I could write it down. so I don't see what you think you mean. this is the time of the first fast.

I can't really understand how anyone wouldn't dig that. He blew it up.
The background vocals were the strongest he's had. Frederic WAILED on that harp... he was also playing harmony with horns and vox. He's a great addition. Morris TORE that synth line up. "He's a musician's musician..."
