unfortunately she pretty much yells nowadays instead of sings

so she needs those back-up singers

Well I really enjoyed the evening. She came on just after nine and opened with I Feel for You. She looked great with red hair which was being blown about by the fan at the front of the stage. She did a few more Rufus era songs, talking between songs about her life and family then she did some songs from her recent album Funk This. The backing singers were the same ones as last year, they all have great strong voices and each get a turn to show us this. Chaka when off stage and the crowd clapped and cheered until she returned and sang I'm every Woman, she was joined on stage by a young girl, aged about 12, who I think must be a granddaughter, Little Brown Girl (warm up bands singer) and Lulu. They all had fun playing around to this very extended version. The crowd really seemed to enjoy the show and the venue was packed. Chaka was on stage for about an hour and a half.

Many thanks...I really enjoyed the show. It was pretty much the same vibe as Hotpaisleygirl told us. This show was filmed with 8 camera's so probably, and according to the guy who introduced Chaka, it will be released on dvd.

I was there last Friday in Amsterdam, Paradiso.
This was a bad performance. Chaka could not sing one song without shouting. Her singing has become very bad. At one moment I thought when she sang "through the fire",...finally a song that she can sing with some feeling I thought, but after a few lines she started shouting again and her backing vocals did the melody. This was my last time I went to a concert of her, her days are over.
