I think you are all wrong...
I was at there for small club in 88, Camden 88 , Cafe Royal 98, The Pod 95, Kings Cross 93, Nighttown 02 etc etc. The best show was at the Emporium. Full stop! . |

we all have our favorites, it's hard to pick just one because we all like them for different reasons. The HOB LA aftershow from last april was fantastic for me becuase i looove Beautiful Strange & he just turned it out on that one. The last time he played Vegas at Studio 54 was great because i was smack dab in front of his mike & he played a blues verson of She's Always in My Hair. I can't wait to go on the 15th & see what he pulls out of his bag of tricks this time!! |

The last nighttown gig is much better, musically spoken. This latest band rules (and Prince knows it, at some point in Nighttown he says "can nobody mess with my band"). btw i love that Renato on keyboards, the solo on the first song is fabulous. I agree that Small Club is so loved because of it's sound quality and how rare it was for it's time. I'm listening to Nighttown right now and the first jam session tops anything that was on Small Club. I feel that Small Club is one of the most overrated bootlegs as far as music goes. Just my Imagination is amazing yes but IMO the rest isn't anything so amazing. That's MY opinion and I'm sticking to it. | |

It's all a question of perception...
1 think's Bataclan, 1 think's Nitetown, 1 thinks whatever... I think it;s all in the mood U all where in at the time... For example: I went 2 Ahoy 15-10 and 2 Antwerp 18-10 The show in Ahoy was the greatest i've ever seen( because I was there with the woman of my life...)Antwerk was verry good 2 but I missed something(my girlrfriend,she was sick) so it was a totally aother experience then Ahoy and it was nearly the same show... BUT IS WASN'T AS GOOD!!! | |
