The book "21 Nights" is due to drop Sept 1st, less than a month away now. People have speculated as to whether he will play a gig to celebrate it's release. I just checked the IndigO2 site and the venue looks free from Sept 1-4
but if he's gonna do something surely he needs to announce and put tickets on sale very soon, unless he does one of his last minute things.

I believe this was the source, September 1st was mentioned, but now it seems the (UK) release date is postponed to September 30th.

Stevie Wonder is at the O2 in September. I'm secretly hoping for a stage raid from Prince... preferably on the day I'm going.

Well, anyway my question is the same, will he? Won't he? bearing in mind that as of right now the IndigO2 has not got any bookings from Sept 28th til Oct 3rd.

My guess is:
He'll give a mini-concert in some bookstore.
He'll do some TV - Leno, Today Show, BET.
And that will be about all.

He already did that with the US version of 3121 CD, they had 7 (?) lucky purple tickets inserted in random copies of the CD, finders of these special CDs got into an exclusive party/gig at Prince' house in LA. A good idea in theory but as I recall it didn't quite work as I think only 2 people actually found the 'lucky' CDs. DOH!!!
