Or if you have an earlier event or function on Thursday - perhaps you will join us later after your earlier event finshes - we're open til at least 2am although admission may end as early as Midnight depending on how busy the club is. I personally would like to say this: In such cut throat & cold industries as the Music & Media world where it's so hard to get a break, and of which many who do get their break are very quick to close the door behind them - Elayne is one of the few who has continually encouraged & facilitated new musical talent. Those old enough to remember the 291 Club TV series on LWT/ITV which Elayne presented & co-devised will remember how raw & live it was - this show alone gave rise to some great now established musical talent inc. Skunk Anansi and Eternal to name a few...

Amazingly there are some people who are unaware Lovers Rock was a Reggae style originated in London. 291 Club was a significant & vital TV show giving light to artists & newcomers who would have had little or no other national exposure. & if you think it was no big deal - take a look around at our national terrestrial TV shows now on UK TV - how many shows do you see like this??? This show was one of many achievements of Elayne's, no Elayne - no 291 Club.
