If you're referring to the Dublin non-gig in June I think it's been explained pretty thoroughly. Prince had no need to explain his non-actions because as far as he was concerned he never agreed to do the gig in the first place. If you are gonna criticise at least aim it in the right direction. All Prince had to do in the months before the concert when tickets were openly on sale was announce that he had not signed a deal and had no intention to play, if indeed he had no agreement to play, he was perfectly entitled to inform his fans that this event would not take place, lets face facts, he's pretty letigious when it comes to fans, so why not when someone is using his name to promote an event/sell tickets? there must have been some sort of agreement in place else they'd be in court. Prince and his management deserve criticism for not playing and not explaining the situation, but thats nothing new for Prince .... we had the VIP fiasco at the O2 less than a year ago, another example of Prince and his management exploiting the fans. u lucky thing, I would of loved to go and see Madonna in concert, with the Prince gig being cancelled in Dublin. It would of cheered me up. I have been a big fan of Madge's for as long as I can remember. I watched the Confessions concert on the tv the other week and it was fantastic. Hope u have a good time.

[Edited 9/8/08 15:28pm] Actually, I don't think Prince or his (mis)management had anything to do with the VIP crap at the O2 last year, I think it was something dreamt up by AEG Live to try and grab more money out of us gullible fans. I went VIP the 1st night and what a complete rip off it was. Never mind, live and learn. Homer Simpson: "I call the big one Bitey"!!

I think Prince and his management would have taken a cut of the profits generated by VIP ticket sales, they wouldn't have allowed AEG to sell £250 tickets and get the same cut as they got when they sold a ticket for £31.21, you can imagine Prince's face when he came on stage to find all them people sat on stools around the edge of the stage from the golden ticket sales.... he would have been curious to know how they got there, so he must have known about it. I agree, the VIP was a rip off and I don't think Prince or his people were oblivious to that and the complaints of the fans.

I'm sure you're right, definitely right about the £250 Golden bar stool area. One night, fairly early into the residency me and my mate had Level 4 seats so went to see about changing them at Customer Services desk and was gobsmacked, not to say thrilled when the girl, after furtively looking around, gave us Bar Stool stage seats. That was pretty cool of her, she definitely didn't have to do that. That was the night Prince threw his guitar pick down hard after a slammin solo as mentioned on the 3121 site. The pick is now nestled at the bottom of my ticket stub tin Homer Simpson: "I call the big one Bitey"!!
