Why 13?

Can anyone tell me why Prince sings 'it's been 7 hours and 13 days' instead of '15 days' (nothing compares 2 u) as he did at the two Ahoy concerts in Rotterdam. This probably is a very stupid question, but I can't seem to come up with a logical explaination...;/

Thankx!!!

it's a joke ...

prince sings "it's been seven hours and ..."
whole audience sings "15 days"
prince sings "13 days"
audience laughs

he did it all over europe, not only holland

I think the logical explanation might be right in front of your nose. The original lyric as written by Prince is:
7 hours and 13 days. (check out the song on the album 'The Family (by The Family) where it originally appeared.
Also on the live version of 'The Hits' where he sings it with Rosie Gaines he sings "13 days".

Now for some reason Sinead O'Connor changed the lyrics in the version she did into "7 hours and 15 days".
And perhaps THAT is the version people are most familiar with. So think 'automatically' sing: "15 days"

You can hardly blame Prince from singing the song as he wrote it, can you?

13 means a lot of things 2 me.
1st of all its my lucky number, as it is 2 all warm people attracted 2 the moon.
Most people R frozen and R attracted 2 the sun.
4 most people it’s the unlucky no. (like Friday the 13th)
13 days – means then unlucky days (2 most people)
but 2 me it means LUCKY DAYS.

I would like 2 hear him sing
NOTING COMPARES 2 WHOM…. Next time
We can answer
U

I wich however it was 13 disciples in the bible.
Then Jesus would not been crucifixes – We would have no war – Just the Pope and Prince

7 – means a lot of things 2
but that’s not the quizzz. Here .

If U would like more theories on 13.
Pls. Put on a cent – I can gogogogogogo 4ever.

Jeez have I been living in lalaland?? I've always assumed it has been 15 days, damn Sinead o'Connor! So I've already deleted 15 out of my system..13 it was, 13 it always will be! (But on the hits album version with Rosie it's hard to recognize a 13 also, or is it my failing ears?)
Thank you guys for clearing this up 4 me...wink
