ADVICE WHEN IN DUBLIN!

Can you give advice please when in Dublin, ie: Transport from airport, cheap and good pubs, safety advice. Sounds like i'm a novice tourist but like to know some info on a place before i go. Also as a lot of fans going i'm trying to budget so some info as asked before on some cheap but good places to eat and drink. Cheers

Try The Winding Stairs restaurant for good ( if not too cheap) Irish food....otherwise

The old Stand pub at lunch

Cornucopia

Wagamammas

The Abbey Food court.....

Check Tripadvisor for reviews and addresses or orgnote me.

There is a blue "Aircoach" which stops at most city centre and near suburb hotels, that's probably the cheapest way to get to the city centre. Booze and grub are the same as any other city, you can go cheap (McDonalds, Burger King etc) it's what you want yourself really?

Like all big cities stick to the main areas and don't wander to far off the beaten track, not that it's unsafe but this is normal tourist information for a big city smile Once you behave and show respect you should be fine mate, anjoy yourself.

Anywhere that doesn't rip you off ie 6 euros a pint, not fussed if its got live music, basically a decent pub thats resonable and in centre. I know this is a bit vague eireboy but any advice is good.

I say check out the "old" Dublin pubs as the city also has a lot of Pubs that could be anywhere....

My little list would be

The long hall ( Georges streeet south)

The Palace (fleet street)

The International( Wicklow street)

The Old stand ( Exchequer street)

McDaid's
3 Harry Street,

You have just listed most of my favourite pubs!
Great traditional pubs for a decent Guinness.
Also I'd list Toners on Baggot Street, Kehoes on Sth Anne St (upstairs is great) and Bruxelles on Harry St - quite a fun pub - easy to spot with the statue of Phil Lynott outside.

Surely you wouldn't suggest anywhere other than Leo Burdocks for fish and chips??
Amazing fish and chips. Definitely best in Dublin. Usually a queue, but really, really worth the wait. And huge portions.
One in 2 Werburgh Street, Christchurch and another in Epicurean Food Hall on Liffey street near Halfpenny Bridge.

Also no need to eat crap like McDonalds when you can get a proper pub meal for about a tenner most places. Or the hotel bars in city centre will have carvery meals for about the same.
