Is it just me, or does anyone think that Prince may have taken something before this show? He acts completely out of character, and seems to struggle to keep his eyes open at times. His dance moves are way off, and he seems strangely distant.

Obviously this is merely speculation, but i think it's plain to see that something is amiss with prince in this show.....

omg what a show!!!never heardthe song motherless child before or after by prince!awesome!!and not to forget larry graham!!spectacular livesession, if he has taken something, he should do more often!

I think Septimo is a BRILLIANT performance, especially Motherless Child, he looks Ok to me!! The only thing I can think of is that he and Mayte were breaking up around this time, but apart from that nothing amiss....

angry? I don´t think so,he even invited the audience to come up to the stage and the final was a big party with including the audience.
but i heard there were troubles after the show ,because the venue should have been used for a talk show but the prince equipment was still there.
does anybody know something about this ?

quite a few of the performances from this time are unique to this time period of Prince IMO - theres a lot of attitude (In a good way!) the music is so tight, and everyone in the band seem to be having Epileptic Dalcroze Eurhythmic Fits!

The version of motherless child is a jaw dropping gem....really emotive

No. He didn't take something, he's just feeling that song. Prince was a child without a mom's comfort for a Long time. I treasure his performance of that song!

He was angry (problems with the sound and the TV staff, specially with Mr.Bosé) and he put all his rage on that performance... There are already several threads talking about this issue...
