Well higher % than quite a few european countries, ask Bono!.

sigh Do you think I make shit up to amuse myself ?

I have no idea what Bono's particular tax arrangements are, or what tax incentives the Netherlands currently has for musicians. But just because Bono presumably pays less tax than he would do in Ireland it does not necessarily follow that Ireland has 'incredibly high taxes' - quite the opposite actually, but I'm not doing all the work for you - look it up yourself.

Anyhow I think this has gotten just a little bit off topic!

We would never have gone off topic if you hadn't said something so ridiculous - Ireland does not have 'incredibly high taxes', they're lower than the European average - look it up.
Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

I've heard from "sources" in the prince camp that he has chosen Ireland so he can try out for Shamrock Rovers in time for their game on the 20th.....

Actually it's above average for Personal Tax, below average for Corporate Tax, and above average for VAT.
But Bono is just a mean old shite - and quite the hypocrite for organising tax avoidance.

But jaysus!!
A conversation about tax!!
tsk tsk

Aaaaarggghh!!! lol It's not! The average personal tax rate in the EU works out at about 35%. Ireland's rate is 20% basic, 41% above €35,400. The national average salary in Ireland is €34,700. So the personal tax rate for the average worker is well below the EU average. VAT is also below average - although if you want to get into the details there are very few VAT exemptions in Ireland compared to other EU countries, so it probably would work out about or possibly slightly above average depending on how much of their salaries other EU citizens spend on VAT exempt products.

You're dead right about Bono though.
