Twenty years ago today, November 19 (1982), I arrived at the Gary Genesis Center in Gary, Indiana at 4:33 p.m. to see Prince in concert. It was my first time seeing him perform live and the 1999 Tour was the ultimate for us that got to see Vanity 6 for the first and last time on tour.

I met him afterward. I was crying because he didn't perform Sexuality. I said, "Prince. Prince." He smiled and said, "Hi." I stared at him (he was taller than me then). Then he said, "I have to go." He turned and walked down a hall toward the tour bus.

I can still see that smile as if it just happened.

how was vanity 6 anyway?..that must've been a crazy show...

Vanity 6 was cool. She worked the crowd which was 80% teenaged girls. We just stared at her wishing we could dress like her in underwear and a cape. Jill Jones and The Time were behind the red curtain with black designs. The Time played the music for Vanity 6 and Jill sang backing vocals. She came on stage when Prince was performing and stood by Lisa's keyboard set up.

Wow! I remember reading about this concert and going "Wow he performed in MJ's hometown..." So give us some details of the concert.

The date November 19th 1982 is a Great flashback 4 me 2.

At about 1600 pm I got a phone call from the Head engineer at Kvearner Engineering as in OSLO. The message was - THE JOB IS YOURS.

Just 3 months later I got approved by BP (British Petroleum) - accepted at the same level as the experienced Engineers - I was the youngest technical draft(wo)man and DAK DAP operator They had.

I would sill have loved 2 B in your place. I had been a Pince fan 4 2 years at that time.
