I KNOW it was forever ago but please help me get my money back Okay so I have been switched off to Prince since the fiasco that was the O2 VIP tickets and had no idea so many people got refunded.
HOW did you do it? I am desperate to do it too - it may help me get over the whole thing and listen to the purple one again. Plus I don't have the money for Dublin (Hey until today I didn't know anything about it) and if I got this back I could go. Anyone able to help me? Names / addresses / places to use to take legal action / HELP NEEDED! Thank you so much I was there on opening night and did the VIP in the o2. Lisa Have you had your + signs today?

Hi,
I got a refund after a long time waiting. First they sent me a cheque, which would cost me 60% of the value to collect it. So I write an email with my bankdetails to transfer the money. After 5 emails, I finally got my refund (GBP 31,21 for each VIP ticket(10%of the normal price)) You can contact: Julie Mann julie@aeglive.co.uk Good luck

if you bought tickets from a ticket agency, (probaby ticketmaster) send a recorded delivery letter to their head office , stating your case. Give them fourteen days to respond, then take them to small claims.
I got ALL my money back. if your seats were not the best in the house, you have an easier case.

Would seats behind the stage with a very restricted view be classed as rubbish seats?
Thanks by the way for advice so far! Lisa Have you had your + signs today?

anything with restricted view that was sold to you as VIP (or even as a normal seat) was sold illegally,
1. it contravenes the sale of goods and services act. 2. it contravenes price indication (resale of tickets) regulations 1994 Here is the main text of the letter i wrote to ticketmaster. ( i think i posted it here before, but who has the time to use the search function anyway?) Dear Sir/Madam, I have been a customer of ticketmaster for over a decade and it saddens me to have to write this letter. Back in May, i purchased a ticket to see Prince on the opening night of his London residency at the o2 arena. I purchased a vip ticket that promised me.. "THE BEST SEATS IN THE FLOOR SECTION “ this was the sole reason for purchasing the ticket and I paid a hefty premium . i took it on faith that when you said the best seats, you meant the best seats.. i had no way of confirming or denying this since my tickets never arrived at my house as they were supposed to and as I had paid for. The first time i saw which seat i was allocated, was when i got to the o2. On receiving my ticket i found that i was seated in section e1 row e seat 16 As i took my seat i came to realise that this this was a restricted view seat which afforded me very little view of prince since it seemed to basically, for most of the show give a view of the drummer and keyboard player's back side. This was not by anyone's description the "best seats" I phoned Ticketmaster to complain the day afterwards and was directed to Aeg., the promoter. I asked Ticketmaster for Aeg’s contact details and was told that they had been instructed NOT to give them out. This seemed overly bureaucratic and not really in keeping with the point of “Customer service” On August 28th, 2007, Maxine (surname unknown) who worked in the hospitality office at Aeg-live confirmed to me that the seat I was given had a restricted view along with many of them at the back of the stage. She also offered that as well as having restricted view, the sound in those seats was also very poor on that specific night. I find this situation totally unacceptable. i did not receive the service advertised and paid for, and after speaking to aeg live and several members of ticketmaster staff, who have all been very polite and very pleasant, I have yet to receive anything like a satisfactory offer. I have spoken to trading standards via consumerdirect.gov.uk and they have informed me that you are in breach of contract. Under the sale of goods act 1979, the ticket sold was not as described, From a personal point of view, it was the exact opposite of what was promised. Further to that by selling restricted view tickets without making clear to the consumer that you are doing so, you are breaking the law. I draw your attention to the case of Clive Moss who was fined £17,000 for this in 2006 Further to that by selling tickets without identifying seat locations, you were also breaking the law. (I note that around the 20th-28th august, you did correct this and proceed to let people who were vip’s know the position of their seats from the time of booking- you did continue selling tickets that were restricted view under the description “best seats in the house” I wish a full refund to be made to my card within fourteen days of the date of this letter.. I also wish to have included a refund of £4.95 postage costs, since the tickets never actually reached me in the post. I waited in a full day only to find they had been sent back to the o2. I also suggest that you keep a tighter leash on Aeg, a quick glance round the Prince fan forums suggest that there are maybe thousands of disgruntled fans out there who have been ripped off in this way , and since under the sale of goods act, YOU are legally liable for their actions, it’s in your interest. They seem reckless. What they are supplying as V.I.P. is more like R.I.P. O.F.F.* Ticketmaster is the first place I look when I want tickets for events, I hope to keep things that way. I look forward to your rapid response. Markland posted a link to the specific legislation too..
