Good And Bad News

The bad news - My sister works in ticketmaster, and I went to pick her up from work like I do every Tuesday, and anyway she told me (cause she knows i'm a die hard prince fan) that her manager was told that sales for croker are not bad, but they might not be strong enough to play the gig there, and it they don't increase Prince might be moved to the RDS arena and will play 2 or 3 night there.

Here's the good news though, coming close to the gig there will be a strong 'media blitz' via radio and TV, so I think sales will pick up pretty heavy after that.

Fingers crossed

So either way, we get 2 see him.... cloud9
Since i am in Dublin from Sunday-Wednsday that week, if the venue was changed, and Prince plays over 2-3 nights, I would seriously consider going 2 every performance....More than once in one week?? How could i resist!!!?? nutty dancing jig

Funny thing is, a lot of people have been saying that sales of Croke Park have been horrible, that's a lie almost 60,000 tickets have sold.

One way or another every one who bought a ticket will see him, either in croke (which I think will go ahead 100%) or in the RDS which at this stage is just plan B.

On a side note, Neil Diamond is selling very bad, and the same plan is being used for his show at croke park

No offence to your sisters info. But I doubt they would or could do that. The RDS is the only arena/stadium in dublin at the moment since the point depot has been knocked down. So it would have to be RDS. It is already booked for the 16th june. They would have to refund thousands of fans and start from scratch in their ticket sales. They cannot change the date of the concert and the arena to my knowledge without offering a refund. It is also a monday night, they know a huge number of fans would be traveling from europe at the weekend. I would imagine a total cancelation and then perhaps a resale at a later date would be easier for them to cope with..but I hope not!

I Really HOPE NOT!!!! I can't wait for 16th June. pray pray pray pray pray pray pray pray pray pray pray

Actually just checked again, RDS may be available, other parts of it are booked.
I still seriously doubt it though. And part of the reason that Neil Diamond and (I hope not, prince) sales are poor is because Croke is not a great concert venue. Too big with too few amenities. No beer inside! This is ireland we are talking about!. No beer! It got a really bad rap from the thousands who showed up for the police. I'm sure Prince can save us though, beer or no beer!

Well the whole Police gig got a bad rap because it was supposed to be crap. There's definitely beer there, they just pick and choose which events and areas it's available at. I think the stadium and facilities are great... for sports. Not keen on it for concerts but very few outdoor gigs are ideal. Too many tradeoffs.

yeah, I agree great sports venue not good concert venue. I was actually dragged to see the police (I can't stand them anyway) but have to say venue not great. There was no beer inside venue, only outside grounds. No food inside and only a few people selling water in the back passage of stadium. And police were crap!

I imagine they'll avoid this as it would be a logistics nightmare....is has been known to happen though.

I think the RDS would have been a more logical venue in the first place.....

Well, I am glad you asked me that...

are you ready for this?

He said that his grandads, second cousin (twice removed) heard from his best friend at works, sisters friend that works at her hair salon that her brother was told that the sources and actual content of how he knows the gig will happen could not be disclosed as it is top secret and may or not be correct.

DAMN I am even confused!!

I saw U2 in Croker in June 05 and I thought it was a fantastic venue. I wish people would stop stirring shite. It's unnecessary and stressing me out!

By the by... Did anyone think that the snow we had here this month was a sign from Prince? April? Snow? I think it's a good omen.

OK, just been on tickemaster and found out the following

lower stands from 336 to 327 and 302 to 311 sold out
upper stands from 735 to 725 and 702 to 709 sold out
all gold circle and pitch standing sold out

Available from 325 and 312 lower, 726 and 710 upper. Not sure how Davin stand is working out 319 and 719 best avialable.

So I would say more tickets sold than not.

Since when have the Premium tickets been showing on the diagram? Not noticed these before and there seems to be no way of buying them !!
so, what is the answer 2 the question of U
