Maceo Parker - April in LEEDS! I know we're all hyperventilating over seeing the MAN himself in bonny Ireland (I can't stop butterflies - I HATE dealing with the vagaries of ticketmaster) - but just realised no-one on here seems to have mentioned that MACEO PARKER is playing Leeds university on April 17th. Me and sis going - assumed everyone here would know about it. Leeds union is TINY as well - half expecting to sit on his lap (could make blowing his sax tricky). It's cheap as chips (though we're all breaking banks for Ireland - I think Prince is going to be personally responsible for my own 'credit crunch' this summer - just as he was last summer!
anyway - if anyone up for it - would love to share an ice cold Coors with Orgers on my home turf and boogie to Maceo in April (just warming up for June!) If anybody asks you, I belong to Prince....

Or the manager reading Shakespeare over some funky vibe Oh my God - you were there too? What the hell was that all about. Truly terrible. And the less said about her funky (not) tweed suit the better.

I have no idea what on earth you people are talking about - is this something that happened at an aftershow? have some vague recollection of a woman in a tweed suit. don't try telling me Maceo is going to be reading Shakespeare! If anybody asks you, I belong to Prince....

that was one of the reality checks when he played at the indigo2 after the prince tour had swept through. but, that aside, it was a brilliant night and he was fantastic. as prince fans, i think we should all have adapted to forgiving some phases of experimentation, whats a bit of shakespeare?! at least you could probably take pictures! with love, sincerity and deepest care.....

BUT for that 5 minutes of pure cringe the rest was an absolute blast..quite amazing that Maceo has such a fantastic personality that you never get to see when he is with Prince..spose he is just there to play those hornz. If you get chance to go I would really reccomend it!

I'd rather listen to the bard than have to listen to Rainbow Children in spoken format At least one makes sense once understood.

Hope he'll be there in Croke
