b3xy said: easy answer take a couple of bottles of drink with you and take a pair of spare lids hand over the lids off the bottles when asked and then when you are in the venue and not in an obvious place shove the spare lids back on the bottles if you are asked for the lids just say they werent taken off when you came in but make sure you hide the spare lids well cos its hard to explain a collection of spare lids I did that every night at the O2 I've still got some saved up and I know which size fits the 500ml bottles of Buxton they sell there too! Might take a few different sizes to Dublin just to be safe. I'm such a nerd.

You will be getting searched going into Croke Park. Men may be frisked and women and anyone carrying bags will have them searched. ALL alcohol going into the grounds will be confiscated at the entry gates. Looking for a new man. Freaks need not apply. Freeeks can tho ;-p

I'll take a little bag, they can search trough my second pair of shoes, vest and make-up. No prob. I always get searched anyway. I'm serious, at the airport, ALWAYS. They pick me from the row, even if there are only dark, tall guys around me, I (little, blond, innocent doll-faced) get searched. WHY?

They always search bags mainly looking for cameras and recording equipment, or anything dangerous. Usually just give the main part a quick sweep and move on. They never check the hundred and one side pockets for bottle tops - they just don't expect anyone to be that geeky

But the stadium is equipped with full bar facilities, and they do sell alcohol. It may be that certain acts (or promoters or whoever) decide not to allow alcohol at their concerts. There's no indication on the Croke Park website of a no alcohol policy, and indeed I'd be surprised if there was. The last time I was there (U2) there was a full bar service. Whether or not there will be for the Prince concert I haven't a clue. I have been several times. Alcohol was not allowed on the pitch. No bar facilities were available. There may have been up in the stands. That sounds about right. I've only ever been in the stands and there's always been a full bar service. I guess seeing as Croker is normally used for gaa there wouldn't be much need for bar service on the pitch level - although it'd be interesting to get Meath and Dublin tanked up and let them at it. Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

i wonder what the policy will be on camera and mobile phones?? he did get a bit paranoid towards the end in the o2. us irish tend to be a bit more relaxed about these things. although my mobile phone is crap at photos anyway.
not much of a threat. | |
