The Concert Experience

I have never been to a Prince concert (shame, right?). But I would like to know what it feels like to be at a Prince concert. I'd like to hear the many different experiences from the .orgers out there, just so I could get an idea of what it would be to like if I would ever see one in this lifetime. The floor's open...

My first one felt like it was unreal almost as a dream. As I have gotten used of going to the shows the thrill of it all is there none the less.It is very exciting and yeah sometimes tiring but,I always make a whole day of them so it's a special day all day long and they are very memorable. His passion for music and the fun he has sharing it with his fans is awesome !!!

YES, it's a shame you haven't been to a show. YOU MUST GO!! biggrin

It's truly an amazing experience, like a dream come true. I know it sounds corny but nothing makes me smile more than being there while Prince puts on a show. His music is such a part of my life...

First concert: Lovesexy. Amazing! It was so long ago I can't really get into detail but I remember being absolutely mezmorized, singing Annastesia for what seemed like forever. It felt very spiritual and was SO MUCH FUN!

Last concert: ONA Oakland, the best live show I've ever been to. I had a great time, danced all night, sang, got to look into his beautiful face - what more is there?? The only thing that'll top it is the Celebration, which I'm looking forward to this year!

You'll probably get a better picture if you scan this forum for concert reports. People are pretty good about detailing their experiences to give you a better idea. And if I could give you one piece of advice, wear cozy shoes!! You'll be standing a LOT, P usually makes you wait (especially if it's an aftershow) but trust me it's worth it (if he plays, lol)...

Celebration, HERE I COME!! biggrin
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

you really should try to go... My first show was in 1990, I've seen it ten times since then, I'll be to 2 more shows in this tour, and in the future I'll try to see more. It's worth every penny, I know it's costy but...believe me, no report or boot could describe the feeling at a Prince show! it's something that really changes your life...last time I came out of the show and thought :" don't let nobody, nobody, bring you down..."
cheers
Alex

I don't go to many concerts but, I will not miss a Prince concert. No one puts on a show like he does. I went to the Atlanta ONA April 3rd show and I still haven't come down from it yet. You must go!

I've seen him 7 times total (including aftershows, so not nearly as many times as I should have by now). I simply cannot be stopped from seeing him when he's in town. It would make me ill to know he was playing somewhere near me & I wasn't in the house. omfg

Come to think of it, I get kinda zombie-like when he's in town, lol! I can't really sleep & the ONLY thing I'm focused on is the show. It's a sickness really, like a frickin' drug he is... sad

I have seen two ONA shows, and it's just fantastic.
Sometimes I couldn't even dance or move,I just watched...That man is unbelievable.

Let me tell you about Adore at the Berlin show. This is performed only by him at the keyboards, and usually during such a quiet performance there's always some fuck-head shouting because they will be heard then. In Berlin, it was almost dead-silent...that was unbelievable, he just singing this song.

I think what sums up the concert best is simply "energy". He really makes you go with him because he is feeling what he's doing.

smile Well, I don't know how to explain it...I went to see him on June 18th, 2002 in Montreal, Canada. To be honest...I was not a really big Prince fan until about February, and since then...I can't get enough. I went to to concert with an NPG music club member ..so we got to see the soound check at the very first...that lasted about an hour, that was amazing in itself...I was completly in shock and thought nothing will ever beat this... then the real thing started...we were sitting front row, about 4 feet away from the stage...this man is beautiful in every way possible...Words can't describe the feelings that he makes you feel when he opens his mouth and starts singing... I was in awe...This was my first concert, but I will tell you it won't be my last. If you ever have to chance to go...do not I repeat... DO NOT pass it up! You will never forget it! and that is a promise! wink

Thanks, yall. I'd still like to see him, but I'll probably see a new, mature kinda guy. I won't see that wild side of him anymore. That's probably what I won't enjoy if I do get the chance to catch him live.

don't worry, he'll be back home soon enough. Just make sure not 2 miss out next time! Look at it this way: it's kinda like with every 1st time... the longer it takes 2 get there, the better it'll B when it actually happens (that's wot mom told me anyway wink )
