Why concern of Ticket Sales? They look strong to me? ive been away from the org for a few weeks and came back to read the threads about the Ireland concert.
i see that there is a lot of concern about the venue being empty? ive tried to get tickets on ticketmaster and most of the tiers are sold out... where is everyone getting their information about slow sales? how big is the venue anyway? thanks

About 80 000.
Ticketmaster have a strange way of selling tickets.....those of us who remeber O2 can confirm this.....[/quote] I have tried to get 1 ticket in not to bad a seat at the lower tiers. If I enter '1' I get upper tier tickets only and if I put in '2' it shows different seats in the same block...but then if you try another time it's the same block but different seats again. Doesn't make sense to me but then...I'm blond I love Prince and chocolate - in that order

Every time I check for tickets it offers Block 309 (now row PP) - has been offering this block for the last 2 weeks. This tells me that ticket sales are slow.

Thats becasue you are only selecting 1 Ticket! If you select more than that, then the best ticekts available are more like 326! Not many people only buy one ticket. So therefore looking at the ticetmaster availablity, about 3/4 of the stadium has sold! Whatever happens the show will be amazing!

EEr....ok, but as someone Irish we can relate some rumours goin' round and they are that tickets sales are far from the expected numbers. Apart from that, Prince has never had amzing success with stadium shows ( the "genuine" orgers will know what I'm talking about), and has cancelled several times in the past. Most importantly, this is a forum, which, by nature, is a place people exhcnage views and ideas.....whether we think they're "rubbish" or not.....

Obviously I can't divulge the exact data as it would break from my contractual obligations, but Croke Park is selling very well. Almost 70 percent of the stadium has sold out, and this is long before the promotional push plus two personal appearances by the man himself in the lead-up. The UK hasn't even had any exposure tothe concert yet - or any specialist trip handlers in western Europe so have some faith.
The plan was to let the local Irish market have first dibs at the concert, which is only fair. At present, it is only those desperate for best seats that have bought. The other 30 percent will be swept up in the final month as anticipation grows. I can also confirm there will be an aftershow - although the venue has to remain quiet for now. Ireland should start seeing some competitions for tickets to the main show and aftershow in the coming weeks.
