Oberhausen we get down!!

Damn! Last night's concert in Oberhausen got me hooked again on Prince! I used to be an obsessive fan between 1984 and 1993 but after that, well you can imagine...
I just wanna say that this concert was a very wonderful experience: Prince stronger than ever, with a band, that can follow him everywhere. (Only the DJ isn't necessary in my opinion, he ruins this new SOTT version)
The best moments: Prince joking about the storm during Purple Rain "We don't worry about the weather as long as we got Purple Rain in here!"
Prince playing this very extended version of 1+1+1=3 with a funky guitar, that reminded me of his guitar play during the 1999and Controversy tour.
"The Ladder": What a brilliant idea to pick this song up again!
So even though Oberhausen may not have been the most interesting show on this tour as far as the setlist is concerned (although it had this long "Oberhausen-Blues", which was great!), it was a great night and great to see, that Prince can still do it!
So please give me 100$ for that damn Music Club! I'm hooked again!

I'm sure this was one aim of the ona-tour in europe!
the frankfurt setlist for example made a friend of mine come to the oberhausen concert, too. she loved the show and the npgmc idea, too.
Get sexy sex, get funky at... The ORANGE Park - Funky President, people, it's bad!

"Öüberhausen - make it funky". "There was a Girl from Öüberhausen whom he sent a letter to..."

This sounded a bit weired for those who, like me, were brought up near this place, but it was very funny wink

However, the Concert was funk! headbang And it was so wonderful to see Eric Leeds with him again. Much probs to Eric, he's the man music

i just wanted to add my opinion on oberhausen (a little late, i know, but i spent my time listening to old prince records..)
this concert was superb, with prince in a great mood. i had already seen frankfurt (great) and rotterdam(ok., but no must-see), but oberhausen topped them easily. the soundcheck alone was such an amazing experience! and i really loved all the oberhausen chants he did wth us, so funny! i never saw him joking around so much (the "ausfahrt, einfahrt" thing was mentioned in another thread, prince calling a member's girlfriend on the cellphone, and so on). the band also seemed to be in a great mood (except for eric, but i guess he's a serious man in gerneral).

and for those dutch people complaining about the german audience: this is always a subjective thing. in rotterdam (second member area) i was surrounded by dutch people who did not sing or move at all, for god's sake, they didn't even applaude (were they all recording?!). in oberhausen, i had german and italian fans around me, and we were all going nuts! so it seems unfair to me when people say stuff like "dutch fans are great, others (i.e. germans, but i also read this about scandinavians) are lame. it's just not true. oberhausen rocked! i'm still singing the "oberhausen blues" all day smile

I agree with u on this subject, and I'm Dutch. When I looked around in the Arena I saw the whole stadium dancing including the second ring...
Let's say that in Oberhausen the Germans, Italians, Dutch...everyone went crazy (including the journalists..)
